<p><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Replacement of Motorized Steam Control Zone Valve Stations and Heating Control Panels at Various NYCHA Developments within the Borough of Manhattan</span></span></p><p><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'><u>SCOPE OF WORK:</u></span></span></p><p><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>The work to be done under this Contract consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment and other incidental items required to complete the following:</span></span></p><ol> <li style='list-style-type:none'> <ol> <li style='list-style-type:none'> <ol> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Remove all control wiring from the motorized steam control valve to the terminal box in the tank room.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Disconnect the pressure and compound gauges connection from zone valve station.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Remove existing steam control zone valve stations including motorized steam control valves, all gate valves, by pass valves, strainers and all associated piping.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>All valves removed not claimed by NYCHA shall become contractors properties and shall be legally disposed.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Reconnect the existing pressure and compound gauges to the new steam control zone valve station.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Provide new adequate control wiring with conduit from the new motorized steam control valve to the existing terminal box in the tank room. New control cables shall be as specified in Sec. C of the SOW. In the opinions of NYCHA that existing control cables could be reused, NYCHA will give contractor the directions.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Test the equipment in all modes of operation.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Check piping for leaks.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Calibrate new motorized steam control valves to agree with settings as indicated on the heating control panel.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Replace heating control panel. The new heating control panel shall be the same model as the one removed or as directed by NYCHA.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Reconnect all existing control wiring and electrical wiring to new panels for the proper operation.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Install new steam control zone valve stations as per manufacturers recommendation and best trade practice.</span></span></li> </ol> </li> </ol> </li></ol><ol start='2' style='list-style-type:upper-alpha'> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>A new steam control zone valve station shall include the following:</span></span></li></ol><p style='margin-left:48px; margin-right:13px'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'> </span></span></p><ol> <li style='list-style-type:none'> <ol> <li style='list-style-type:none'> <ol> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>A new motorized steam control valve.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>New valve shall be MEPCO RTMS type or equal.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Two new gate valves, before and after motorized steam control valve - ate valves shall be of iron body, OS and Y type, 125 psig steam or 200 WOG rating.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>A new strainer before the motorized steam control valve - strainer shall be of the 'Y' type with valve blowdown and shall have cast iron body and baskets shall be brass, monel or stainless steel. No plugs will be permitted.</span></span></li> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>All gate valves, strainer, and piping shall be the same sizes as the motorized steam control valve.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>A new by-pass valve on steam by-pass which shall be globe type rising stem, of same class rating and material as specified for gate valves - by-pass valve shall be one size smaller than the motorized steam control valve.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Provide all required unions, reducers, fittings, hangers and miscellaneous components which comprise the steam station.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Provide modifications and alterations to the existing piping for the proper installations of new steam control zone valve stations, when required.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Provide new asbestos free insulation to the new steam control zone valve station.</span></span></li> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Materials and thickness shall be the same as the existing conjunction piping.</span></span></li> </ol> </li> </ol> </li></ol><p style='margin-right:13px; text-align:justify'> </p><ol start='3' style='list-style-type:upper-alpha'> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>If adequate control cables are required for the proper operations of new heating control panels, contractor has two (2) options:</span></span></li></ol><p style='margin-left:48px; margin-right:13px; text-align:justify'> </p><ol> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Use the spare conductors from the existing control cable. OR</span></span></li></ol><p style='margin-left:115px; margin-right:210px'> </p><ol start='2'> <li><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>As approved and directed, utilize the existing underground spare conduits to install new adequate control cables. This work shall be compensated by allowance.</span></span></li></ol><p style='margin-left:48px'> </p><ol start='4' style='list-style-type:upper-alpha'> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>New control cables shall be of multi shielded twisted pair type (STP) with a temperature rating 200°C.</span></span></li></ol><p> </p><ol start='5' style='list-style-type:upper-alpha'> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Each conductor to be of No. 16 AWG stranded or solid tinned copper wire, covered with no less than 0.010' in concentric wall of color coded Teflon (TFE) insulation.</span></span></li></ol><p> </p><ol start='6' style='list-style-type:upper-alpha'> <li style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'>Conductors are to be formed into multi-conductor cable, uniformly round, shielded with tinned copper and covered with a concentric jacket or Teflon impregnated fiberglass.</span></span></li></ol><p><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'><strong>TERM: </strong>3 years plus two one-year extensions (at the discretion of NYCHA).</span></span></p><p style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12pt'><span style='font-family:Aptos,sans-serif'><strong>Section 3 and M/WBE: </strong>Please be advised that the Section 3 REO & OEO Plans and the M/WBE Utilization Plan & Waiver and other related documentation must be uploaded via eComply, https://nycha.ecomply.us/.
