<p>Request for Expression of Interest by the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) to conduct a preliminary survey seeking responses from potential proposers who are interested in and qualified to provide Building Condition Assessment Survey (BCAS) of DOE facilities.</p><p>The SCA is responsible for the execution of building inspections for DOE facilities as defined under the Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education, Part 155 (8 NYCRR 155), Section 155.4, Uniform Code of Public School Building Inspections, Safety Rating and Monitoring (the 'code'). These inspections consist of a BCAS every year. The State mandates that the City adopt sequential Five-Year Capital Plans, which include both new facilities and repairs to existing buildings. The work required for these services include:</p><p> a comprehensive BCAS inspection each year;</p><p> on-call re-inspection services;</p><p> aggregation of the inspection data through the SCA's Costing Program, the software which applies unit costs to the deficiencies;</p><p> submission of output that is complete and consistent with the intake requirements of an SCA designated Capital Planning system software which rolls the deficiencies up into costed projects;</p><p> annual review and updates to the inspection criteria, costing mechanisms, aggregation criteria and reporting structures;</p><p> annual review and recommendation for unit costs employed in the SCA's Costing Program;</p><p> periodic executive briefings;</p><p> reports (including the annual BCAS submission) and support during the execution of the Capital Plan; and</p><p> 5-year SED Building Condition Survey submission.</p><p>If your firm is capable of and interested in providing these Services to the SCA, please provide a brief description of your firm along with current contact information to the Contract Specialist listed.</p><p>This is a preliminary survey to ascertain your firms interest in contemplating a contract with the SCA for the Services. <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Defective weld seams or cracks in boiler walls shall be repaired by the Contractor by flame  cutting or grinding the defective area to clean, defect-free base metal. The Contractor shall remove defective fire tubes and replace the same with new boiler tubes. The Contractor shall remove defective staybolts and replace the same with solid round metal ASME SA-36 or equal welded in place on each end in accordance with NYCHA Contract Drawing 3-778. <p>The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) invites academic institutions, material innovators, industry, coalitions and others to submit responses for the development of a Materials Innovation Hub. The goal of the Materials Innovation Hub is to make New York City (the City, or NYC) the center of biomaterial innovation, research and development (R&D) for industry and commercialization. By creating an open access Materials Innovation Hub, the City will become the center of biomaterial products that transform industry through fostering corporate partnerships, creating new workforce opportunities, and advancing the Citys carbon-neutral goals. The Materials Innovation Hub will focus on the connection between key NYC legacy industries  including, but not limited to, medicine, packaging, construction, fashion  for which biomaterial products and applications will become increasingly prevalent.
