On August 14, 2018, Mayor de Blasio signed Local Law 149 of 2018, creating a new license category for TLC-licensed FHV businesses that currently dispatch or plan to dispatch more than 10,000 FHV trips in New York City per day under a single brand, trade, or operating name, referred to as High-Volume For-Hire Services (HVFHS). This law went into effect on Feb 1, 2019. Each row represents a single trip in a FHV dispatched by a high volume base. The trip records include fields capturing the high volume license number, the pickup and drop-off date, time, and taxi zone location ID, which correspond with the NYC Taxi Zones open dataset.

a) <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/dca/consumers/get-free-financial-counseling.page">NYC Financial Empowerment Centers</a>: a program that provides free, one-on-one professional financial counseling and coaching to all NYC residents. Each row in the dataset represents the number of NYCHA residents on a Borough-level who utilized this service;

b) <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/dca/partners/EmpoweredNYC.page">EmpoweredNYC</a>: is an initiative to assist New Yorkers with disabilities and their families to better manage their finances and become more financially stable. Each row in the dataset represents the number of NYCHA residents on a Borough-level who utilized this service;

c) <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/dca/media/pr012618.page">Student Loan Debt clinic</a>: is an initiative to help New Yorkers understand their student loans and how to repay them. Each row in the dataset represents the number of NYCHA residents on a Borough-level who utilized this service; and

d) <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/hpd/renters/ready-to-rent.page">Ready to Rent</a>: a program providing free one-on-one financial counseling to New Yorkers seeking to apply for affordable housing units through HPD’s Housing Connect lottery. Each row in the dataset represents the number of NYCHA residents on a Borough-level who utilized this service.

The dataset is part of the annual report compiled by the Mayor’s Office of Operations as mandated by the <a href="https://legistar.council.nyc.gov/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=2745761&GUID=2A9FB1D2-A1A8-4484-9D49-6F8332171B66">Local Law 163 of 2016</a> on different services provided to NYCHA residents. 2022 Annual Sustainability Project Grant

In the program’s 6th cycle, the DOE Office of Sustainability offered an opportunity for all schools to apply for a grant of up to $5,000 for a school-based sustainability project in any of the following categories: Green Teams, Sustainability Education, Gardens & Outdoor Learning, and Demonstration Solar Installation projects. Interest in the grant continues to grow and this year more projects were funded than ever before! Highlights include:
• 117 schools across all boroughs were awarded $537,242
• Highest Demand Category: Gardening & Outdoor Learning (75 schools awarded)
• Average Economic Need Index of awarded schools: 84% (citywide average: 71%)
Funding for the grants is provided by the participation and performance of over 350 DOE buildings in the Demand Response Program. These buildings commit to reducing electrical usage during emergency utility events in order to prevent brownouts and blackouts for NYC residents. The Office of Sustainability reinvests funds earned through the DOE’s performance in Demand Response directly back into our building infrastructure and school sustainability initiatives, including the annual grant program.
