Buildings which intend to seek partial real estate tax exemption under New York State Real Property Tax Law Section 421-a Subdivision 16 are required to commence and complete construction, as those terms are defined by the law, by certain dates. On April 20th, 2024, New York State extended the date by which buildings can complete construction from June 15, 2026 to June 15, 2031, for projects that, among other things, submit a form created by the agency within 90 days of the agency providing such form to the public. This form includes owner reported data including, but not limited to, information about ownership, the reported number of dwelling units and affordable housing units anticipated to be included in the building and reported commencement dates and reported, anticipated completion dates.

1 foot Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Integer Raster

A bare-earth, hydro-flattened, digital-elevation surface model derived from 2010 Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data. Surface models are raster representations derived by interpolating the LiDAR point data to produce a seamless gridded elevation data set. A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a surface model generated from the LiDAR returns that correspond to the ground with all buildings, trees and other above ground features removed. The cell values represent the elevation of the ground relative to sea level. The DEM was generated by interpolating the LiDAR ground points to create a 1 foot resolution seamless surface. Cell values correspond to the ground elevation value (feet) above sea level. A proprietary approach to surface model generation was developed that reduced spurious elevation values in areas where there were no LiDAR returns, primarily beneath buildings and over water. This was combined with a detailed manual QA/QC process, with emphasis on accurate representation of docks and bare-earth within 2000ft of the water bodies surrounding each of the five boroughs.

Section 11.03 of NYC Health Code requires all animals bites to be reported within 24 hours of the event.

Data is collected from reports received online, mail, fax or by phone to 311 or NYC DOHMH Animal Bite Unit. Each record represents a single dog bite incident. Green infrastructure (GI) collects stormwater from streets, sidewalks, and other hard surfaces before it can enter the sewer system or cause local flooding. The GI practice data contained in this dataset includes the location, program area, status, and type of GI. This dataset is updated by the NYC Department of Environmental Protection on a monthly basis.

The “Porous_Permeable_Pavement” polygon layer contains constructed porous permeable pavement practices only, which fall under the ROW program area category. The three ROW Porous Permeable Pavement asset types in this shapefile are Porous Concrete, Permeable Pavement, and Porous Asphalt."

Speed humps are traffic calming devices intended to slow traffic speeds on low volume, low speed roads. Speed humps are 3–4 inches high and 14–20 feet wide, with a ramp length of 3–6 feet, depending on target speed. Speed cushions are either speed humps or speed tables that include wheel cutouts to allow large vehicles to pass unaffected, while reducing passenger car speeds. They can be offset to allow unimpeded passage by emergency vehicles and are typically used on key emergency response routes. Speed humps are generally installed on local residential (non-truck route, non-bus route locations), while speed cushions are generally installed on designated truck route locations and bus route locations.

The requests for speed hump/cushion come through Commissioner Correspondences or from other sources and entered manually into the Speed Reducer Tracking System. The Speed Reducer Tracking System then tracks the results of request to determine whether a speed hump/cushion is feasible for installation.

This datasets contains information about NYCHA residents who earned a high school equivalency (HSE) diploma in a given year. Only Pathways to Graduation HSE graduates are included. Pathways to Graduation is a full-time free NYC Department of Education program that helps students earn their HSE Diploma. Each row in the dataset represents the number of public housing residents on a Council District-level who earned a HSE diploma through participation in Pathways to Graduation.
Up until December 2021, in New York State, HSE diplomas were awarded to students who passed the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) exam. In December 2021 New York Staten transitioned from using the TASC to the <a href="https://ged.com/">GED Test</a> as the state’s HSE exam.

Greenstreets

Launched in 1996, the Greenstreets program began as a partnership between the NYC Parks and the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT). The program was created to change unused road areas into green spaces that beautify neighborhoods, improve air quality, reduce air temperatures, and calm traffic. Greenstreets later became a component of the City's "green infrastructure," with some containing bioswales or rain gardens to divert and/or filter stormwater.
