Net change in housing units arising from new buildings, demolitions, or alterations for NYC NTAs since 2010. The NYC Department of City Planning's (DCP) <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-housing-database.page#housingdevelopmentproject">Housing Database</a> provide the 2010 census count of housing units, the net change in Class A housing units since the census, and the count of units pending completion for commonly used political and statistical boundaries. These tables are aggregated from the DCP Housing Database, which is derived from Department of Buildings (DOB)-approved housing construction and demolition jobs filed or completed in NYC since January 1, 2010. Net housing unit change is calculated as the sum of all three construction job types that add or remove residential units: new buildings, major alterations, and demolitions, and can be used to determine the change in legal housing units across time and space.

Each year, bodegas and grocery stores located in and around Action Center catchment areas participate in the Shop Healthy NYC program's Retail Challenge to increase (1) availability of healthier foods, such as low-sodium canned goods, healthier snacks and deli options; (2) promotion of healthier foods by posting Shop Healthy marketing materials for healthier foods and removing unhealthy advertising from the front door; and (3) visibility of healthier foods by placing them in more prominent locations, such as placing produce at the checkout counter or near the front entrance of the store, and water and other low-calorie drinks at eye-level. Stores that have implemented all of the program’s criteria at the conclusion of the Retail Challenge, and maintain them for at least one month, receive a recognition award from the Borough President's Office to acknowledge their efforts and dedication to make the healthy choice, the easier choice for their communities.

This is a manually compiled list of stores, which is based on data collected through implementation checklists; these are forms completed by Shop Healthy staff as part of store observations that track whether each criteria has been met. At this time, the program does not have processes in place to ensure that stores maintain the changes past one-month.

These data were prepared in compliance with the requirements of Local Law 24 of 2016 (LL24). Under LL24, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) is required to assess the solar photovoltaic (PV) potential of all City-owned buildings over 10,000 gross square feet once every two years. Special focus is given to identifying and quantifying potential capacity at solar-ready buildings, which are defined as buildings that have roofs that are no more than 10 years old and are in fair or good condition. The 2022 Solar-Readiness Assessment is the fourth biennial assessment pursuant to LL24. 2020 Neighborhood Tabulation Areas (NTAs) - Mapped

2020 Neighborhood Tabulation Areas (NTAs) are medium-sized statistical geographies for reporting Decennial Census and American Community Survey (ACS). 2020 NTAs are created by aggregating 2020 census tracts and nest within Community District Tabulation Areas (CDTA). NTAs were delineated with the need for both geographic specificity and statistical reliability in mind. Consequently, each NTA contains enough population to mitigate sampling error associated with the ACS yet offers a unit of analysis that is smaller than a Community District.

Though NTA boundaries and their associated names roughly correspond with many neighborhoods commonly recognized by New Yorkers, NTAs are not intended to definitively represent neighborhoods, nor are they intended to be exhaustive of all possible names and understandings of neighborhoods throughout New York City. Additionally, non-residential areas including large parks, airports, cemeteries, and other special areas are represented separately within this dataset and are assigned codes according to their type (See NTAType field). All previously released versions of this data are available at <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/bytes-archive.page?sorts[year]=0">BYTES of the BIG APPLE- Archive</a>.
