The Youth Development in Diverse Contexts lab of *** has run a National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study examining the sleep, behavior, and experiences of high school students to understand developmental outcomes and differences across racial/ethnic groups. We would like to further this exploration by examining the relationship between sleep duration and quality and crime rates and incidents in participants’ neighborhoods during the time frame of data collection. Our research question is: How does crime and other such related incidents affect adolescent sleep?
