Response
Hi ,
You can get some of what you're looking for from Department of Buildings data.
List of residential buildings
Our DOB Job Application Filings dataset is a list of all of the active applications for construction work since 2000. This will give you a list of buildings throughout the city for those buildings that are subject to DOB oversight and that have done construction work in that time period. Older buildings that have not done any alterations since 2000 will not appear on this list. A small number of buildings that are not subject to DOB oversight, like some federal buildings, will not appear on this list. In the Building Class column, you will find a code that you can match to Department of Finance Building Class to find out if the building is residential.
Developers
For developer, you can get information about the Applicant, who must be a licensed design professional. This does not tell you what company they work for.
Square footage
In that same dataset if you scroll all the way to the right, you will find Total Construction Floor Area. This is only available for certain types of construction work where this number is required to be filled out.
Dwelling units
Similar to square footage, this is not required to be filled out for all types of construction work. For those that contain this information, you'll find Existing Dwelling Units, which is the number before construction, and Proposed Dwelling Units, which is the number after construction is complete.
The other information you requested is not available at the Department of Buildings.
Thank you,
