Homeless Shelter Information - (1) promote government transparency and effective communication by centralizing social services, including but not limited to public assistance and education, so residents can learn about the programs in place to meet their needs. (2) reduce homelessness by empowering residents to book a shelter for those in need through an online form (which reflects live updates). We track the number of requests (but not specific users) to determine demand, give this information to the relevant government officials, and advocate for tax breaks for any company willing to make up for the shortage). That said, we would love a data set that tells us shelters' capacities, and, if you have it, the ways that shelters update their information. For this, we would want the answers to the following question "Do you [shelters] track your capacity using computers? Yes or No." If we have this, we can officially launch our application for the City of New York.
