I would like to obtain a data file (.txt or excel) that contains the name and complete mailing address of the owner of each real property parcel in New York City. I would also like for this file to contain the Borough, Block and Lot numbers (BBL) for each parcel. While data files listing the BBL and owner of every parcel are available for download through PLUTO (http://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data.page#pluto), the mailing address of the owners is not available. However, the mailing addresses of parcel owners may be looked up on a parcel-by-parcel basis by entering the borough/block/lot number at the following link (http://nycprop.nyc.gov/nycproperty/nynav/jsp/selectbbl.jsp) and then clicking on the link to the most recent statement, which shows the owner's mailing address. If this data is already available to the public in bulk downloadable format, please let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the City does not actively maintain the dataset you requested. We have, however, been in touch with the Department of Finance, which maintains the property query tool that you linked to, to see if it is possible to release the underlying data file to the public. Stay tuned.

I am inquiring about the list, LL 87 DOB Violations for All Boros. It says "no rows" on this list, however there used to be a list of data here. Please advise where this can be received.


It is extremely helpful for us to look up several buildings at a time to see if they are in violation of LL87. We have a lot of clients and they appreciate it also when we can provide more information about their building in a short time and in a batch process.

On closer investigation, I found that the data is actually still there. In our DOB Violations dataset, you need to filter VIOLATION_TYPE_CODE for "EARCX". Capitalization matters, and that's why the user-filtered view of LL 87 DOB Violations for All Boros is no longer working.

If I want to use this data and throw it on a map or something, having the lat/long would make it far easier. that being said the number is low enough I can collect this by hand, but it would make my life a lot easier.

Furthermore, will this data be hosted on a socrata server with an API? Again, I could take this data and throw it on my own server, but I like using the socrata option when available.

I am currently working on a dissertation project on accountability for performance of nonprofit and for-profit contractors for human services. I plan to conduct survey of New York City nonprofit and for-profit contractors for human services to study their perceptions of accountability and ways of ensuring it.

I am writing to ask if it is possible to request a contact list of NYC contractors for human services. I looked for the information on the NYC Open Data website, but could find only the list of DYCD contractors without their contact information. I think that there can be several thousand contractors for different human services in NYC and I need their list (as complete as possible) to be able to properly sample and conduct survey.

I would be very grateful if you could help me with getting access to a contact list of contractors of NYC for human services - including organizations' names, addresses, emails, sector (for-profit or nonprofit), service type.
I also tried to contact HHS Accelerator for NYC thinking that they might have such information, but they communicate only with providers and do not accept requests for information. The information will be used only for my research purposes and will not be disclosed anywhere.

I'm looking for a downloadable version of the pedestrian activity map available here: https://maps.nyc.gov/businessatlas/

I've already found shapefiles of pedestrian activity from bi-annual pedestrian counts, but I would like the pedestrian activity which covers the entire city. I've already contacted Placemeter (who the city contracted with to collect this data) and I've gotten no response.


Ok, so this is going to sounds strange, but I'm a biologist studying the ecology and evolution of NYC pigeons. I'll be using this data to ask, "Is there a correlation between flight initiation distance (how close you can get to a pigeon before it moves away) and the foot traffic in an area?" We predict that we will be able to get closer to pigeons in areas with high foot traffic. This is part of a senior thesis project I'm conducting with an undergraduate who is looking at the impact of urbanization on the flight initiation distance in NYC pigeons.
