Your request to increase the character limit on the Violation Description in our DOB ECB Violations dataset has been noted. We will review the request and add it to our queue, but please note that if the request is approved, it will not happen very soon.

Instead, I suggest two options:
Look at our DOB Complaints Received instead. We use complaints to track our enforcement inspections, so anything that resulted in an ECB Violation should be in that dataset as well. I think you are interested in what we call "Illegal Conversion" so you should filter the dataset for Complaint Categories 45 and 71.
If you would still rather use ECB data, you can submit a FOIL request for the open data dataset with full Violation Descriptions. You will likely get the data faster that way.

The PLUTO dataset maps them to a school district, whereas I am looking for a mapping to specific public/community schools in those districts.


Is there a significant correlation between the economic activity around a public school and its performance?

I am estimating the economic activity using PLUTO and school performance using several DOE datasets like graduation outcomes and school level scores. The missing piece: I just need to be able to map building addresses to the corresponding public schools.

I am looking for a list of all public schools in Brooklyn with address and school district. I cannot locate it on opendata and as far as I can tell the DOE website only has this in a map. I am looking for a spreadsheet or word doc list of schools so I can import it into another map I am working on.


We are trying to see which public schools are located near several of our partner sites in Brooklyn.

Monuments - I would like a point layer of the NYC Parks Permanent Art and Monuments. There is already a database of the 800 features throughout the city. http://www.nycgovparks.org/art-and-antiquities/permanent-art-and-monuments/results?search_text=%20&borough=&Search=Search
Each individual location can be viewed by clicking on an item and then clicking on "Map It," so the data is obviously all already there. Layer should be here and also added to citymap.

A complaint made to 311 on
April 11, 2011 regarding unlicensed dogs at . This is complaint number I was given: . I also followed up with a call 1 month later on 5/12/2011 and was told the DOHMH gave official documentation to the landlord of the building and was told to correct the situation. I made the complaint anonymously at the time not to suffer reprisals from the owner of the unlicensed dogs.


I need to show that the owner of the dogs at that time was not complying with NYC law regarding the licensing of dogs.
