LoMA is a small, multicultural college preparatory arts themed school that focuses on academic and artistic development and excellence. We believe that all students are intrinsically curious and capable of achieving at high levels. We support each student's intellectual, emotional, and social growth with the goal of success in a four-year college or career. These expectations require that all students take advanced math and science, AP classes and a sequence of arts classes. Overview Paragraph
It is our mission at the James Baldwin School to provide a haven for students who have previously experienced school as unresponsive to their needs as individuals. We wish for all student to find their voice and to speak knowledgeably and thoughtfully on issues that concern their school, their world. We aid students in this endeavor by personalizing our learning, by democratizing and humanizing the school environment, and by creating a "talking culture"-an atmosphere of informal intellectual discourse among student and faculty.

Overview Paragraph
Gramercy Arts is a dual-mission high school that offers all students a well-rounded college preparatory education that balances a rigorous, academic coursework with four years of study in the visual and theater arts. We believe that the creativity that is cultivated within our arts' curricula supports students' success across all subject areas. Furthermore, offerings in core subjects are supplemented with a variety of AP and College Now courses. Graduates are expected to attain an Arts endorsed Regent's Diploma. Our Capstone program allows students to graduate with anywhere from 15 to 30 college credits from AP Exams and College Now, while maintaining access to our rich array of Arts courses.

Students enrolled in this program experience an education with an emphasis on skills and technologies that can lead to 21st century employment using digital design, computer aided drafting, website design, product design and careers yet to be discovered! Content increases in rigor as students progress through the years. Students keep a portfolio of work so that they may not only reflect on their learning but use these portfolios as evidence and discussion points at job and college interviews.
Prgdesc2
The Theater Arts are used as a conduit for self-confidence and self-awareness so that graduates can be engaging in both theaters and board rooms. A 4-year curriculum is offered where students can take 1-2 periods of theater daily. Students acquire skills used in theatre and performance as well as other career paths. Learners focus on directing, playwriting, musical theater, and technical design. An senior-year Exit Project is completed for all students so they may earn an arts endorsed diploma.
Prgdesc3
The Capstone Scholars program is a college readiness program that exposes students to AP Courses throughout their four-year high school tenure. Students select courses in English, History, Math, and Science and complete AP exams to earn 15-30 college credits. Scholars will complete a four-year study of Theater to earn their Arts Endorsed Diploma and an Advanced Regents Diploma. In the 12th grade, students have the opportunity to apply for a 'Capstone' or internship in a field of their choosing.

Overview Paragraph
We offer a unique program that uses the city's museums and cultural institutions to enrich our curricula. Our current partners are the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney, Japan Society, Schomburg Center, and Hudson River Community Sailing, who each become extensions of our classrooms, affording students the hands-on experience needed to make learning deep, challenging, and engaging. Classroom instruction draws upon learning that takes place in the field, and deepens it with content that compels questioning, reflection, and insight. In addition to our regular course sequences we offer 10 Advanced Placement courses and 3 foreign languages. Upon graduation our students are well prepared to enter an excellent 4 year college or university.

Overview Paragraph
Our mission is to provide a challenging academic program. In grades 9 and 10, students take core curriculum courses that include biology, chemistry, English, math, and global studies. In grades 11 and 12, they continue core math and history while choosing from a range of English, science, and elective classes. Every entering 9th grader is assigned an advisor, and an advisory group of 15 to 20 peers, for their four-year arc. We offer a comprehensive college counseling program, which includes direct instruction and individualized support in the college application process from our college counselors. An 18-week college process curriculum, spanning 11th and 12th grades, is delivered to advisory groups during dedicated school-day sessions.

Overview Paragraph
At Landmark, we believe students learn best when they are known well as individuals by caring adults, and when their studies are driven by passion and curiosity. Through the Performance Assessment Consortium, our students do in-depth projects and present them to teachers and other experts as a replacement for Regents exams. This process prepares students well for the demands of college. We are committed to helping students find and develop their passions through a breadth of electives, clubs, and internships. Students earn college credits through College Now and AP classes. Our advisory and restorative justice programs ensure that all students have strong, trusting relationships with adults and peers to support a close-knit community.

Our school offers a challenging curriculum inside an interactive, student centered classroom and outside with expeditionary learning and online options. Our trimester model allows students the option to graduate early and/or complete college courses or job internships. All students are supported in their growth through our strong social-emotional curriculum and advisory program that includes mindfulness, goal setting, and college and career plans. We have a small program for students to transfer throughout the year who interview and are admitted into our Fast Track Program.

Multidisciplinary and personal approach to the design of a rigorous yet supportive educational program while maintaining a focus on college and professional goals. In the process of learning critical and analytical thinking skills in all disciplines, students develop their personal voice while working with others. Through the Integrated Studies curriculum, upon graduation students have a rich high school experience and the knowledge to form a map for an individual academic and career path.
Prgdesc2
A multi-year Computer Science track offers courses in Computer Science that challenge students to solve real world problems using analytical skills. They cover the basic principles of Computer Science, Web Programming, and Advanced Placement Computer Science classes that go deeper into Software Engineering. Through Computer Science course offerings, students will learn computational thinking, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students' success in the real world will greatly depend on their ability to problem solve and utilize technology in their everyday lives. We offer Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, AP Statistics and AP Calculus. Students who take high-level math receive higher scores on the SAT (includes the "Passport to Advanced Math," that requires the manipulation of complex equations). Students who take high-level math courses are more likely to graduate from college and get higher salaries than their peers who did not take those classes.
Prgdesc3
An accelerated course of study in the Humanities to ensure students are not only college ready, but college capable. Freshman year - students begin in a problem-based English Explorations class, reading culturally relevant texts to develop their critical thinking around national and global issues. Sophomore year - they engage with Advanced Placement (AP) Language and Composition, analyzing informational texts by diverse authors (incl. Sherman Alexie & Michelle Alexander). Junior year - students hone their analytical skills in AP U.S. History, studying the turbulent history of the Americas while taking part in exploratory learning in Washington, DC and around NYC. Senior year - students take AP Literature and Composition, reading a balance of canonical and contemporary college level texts. They will be enrolled in College Now courses to get a jump-start in taking college classes.

Overview Paragraph
Our mission is to prepare our students to have access to the best colleges, universities, and careers in the country through a disciplined education in the liberal arts, math, and sciences. All incoming 9th grade students and 10th grade transfer students are strongly advised to attend the Critical Thinking Academy in July to prepare them with the foundation of Critical Thinking needed to succeed in their Portfolio classes (which are based on performance-based assessments) as well as in their Regents classes. Students without this foundation have historically been at an academic deficit in being prepared for college-level work, as a result.
