Due the pandemic the students art experience was very different this school year. However, the students still produced some magnificent pieces of art in some of the genres of visual arts. They did not create as much as they normally do. The ability to just create and design art pieces was like therapy for the students. Giving them time to relax and think about many things and focus on the task at hand. It was a different art experience for the students. However, overall it was great therapy, social connection with their classmates, and emotional release of anxieties. Hopefully, this will be the year we will be able to expand the arts in our building.

This year at P.S. 270, our arts program was adjusted to respond to the needs of our students and families. Over 85% of our families opted to have their children learn 100% remotely due to very real concerns about COVID. We knew that many of our students would be learning from home and would not feel safe going outside for exercise or play. We used grant funding to partner with Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LeAp) to envision an interactive virtual dance program that centered around student's recognizing, expressing, and working through their emotions through dance. Under the guidance of an expert dance instructor, students were able to move their bodies and express themselves after being home and mostly isolated for so many months. Classroom teachers were an integral part of the dance program participating in the dances and connecting the dance lessons to their content areas. Our students were able to showcase their learning in a culminating event for our entire school community.

The 13K287 arts program is a innovative hybrid opportunity for our students to explore their artistic talents both in-person and remotely. This year we are providing arts education opportunities as follows: received an EASE grant to work with Urban Arts to provide theater arts instruction; afterschool programming in digital music and math; and the P.S. 287 Art Club.

PS 307's Arts Department consists of music for PreK-5 and visual arts for PreK-5 in-person and fully remote. PreK-5 grade students received both music and visual arts once a week. Both music and visual arts have their own classrooms where the homeroom classes travel to those arts classrooms. The music teacher and visual arts teacher collaborated for the Remote Holiday Show, Remote Beloved Community Celebration and social media.

The Urban Assembly School of Music (UAMA) and Art offers a large variety of music and arts programming both during and after the school day. This includes songwriting, guitar, piano, musical theater, music production, graphic design, and computer science. Through the increased use of technology during the pandemic, our music production program has expanded and now reaches all students whether in the building or accessing class remotely. UAMA utilizes partnerships with various community arts programs, including Arte and Building Beats. We are excited to unveil our newly renovated state of the art black box theater for both in school and afterschool performance and recording opportunities. Student voice remains the center of our arts programs, and we are always finding new ways to integrate our students artistic interests in our programmatic offerings.

The Brooklyn International High School values arts education as a way for students to express themselves. We have a robust arts program including dance and visual arts. We have also integrated theater into our 12th grade curriculum using Theater of the Oppressed to explore issues of social justice.

At Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice (SLJ), we believe that a rigorous education includes the arts. Through a variety of arts experiences and partnership opportunities, we make the arts a powerful partner in learning. In 10th and 12th grade, students are exposed to a variety of arts through connections made in content classes and outside arts partnerships. In 9th and 11th grade, students are given exposure to over 20 arts providers for afterschool and enrichment opportunities. Approximately fifty students from the school participate in off-site enrichment programming in the arts.

The art department at Arts & Letters 305 United is committed to cultivating creative confidence in our students through a rich program in visual arts, movement, creative writing, music, and theater. From K- 8, students experience an in-depth investigation in the arts. Students create art through inquiry with a strong focus on revision and reflection. Two times a year students exhibit and perform their work in our bi-annual Art Expo. It is an event that draws hundreds of people and a chance for students to present their work publicly. We believe giving students a rigorous arts education allows students to discover their own interests, develop their voice and expand their critical thinking skills. The arts are a vital part of children’s growth, not only as learners, but as whole people. What is a Culture of Creative Confidence? • A belief in one's abilities and ideas and the abilities and ideas of those around them. • A growth mindset (rather than fixed) that allows for development, evolution, improvement, and advancement. • A personal outlook that includes an understanding of the importance of creative thinking and the process that is involved. • An ability to receive and give critique without complaint or insecurity.

Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service is a transfer school. Our mission is to re-engage students in a collaborative setting. In our school, the arts are an effective reengagement tool that fosters creativity and 21 Century Skills. This year, we continue to have a full-time visual arts teacher as well as a part-time art therapist through Pratt. Additionally, students participate in Film and Broadcast Journalism courses in English; classes that afford the opportunity for students to create documentaries, and participate in a daily morning show. Historically, our film students also had their films featured at the Youth Powered Video Film Festival. We also offer a visual documentary art course and a dance elective. To further support our students remotely this year, we facilitated a three day virtual schoolwide poetry slam, a virtual “Cooking Show” as well as an evening virtual Movie Club that was popular with students and strongly attended. We continued our partnership with Hook Arts and facilitated a six week virtual poetry residency in two of our English classes. We also held a virtual schoolwide “Read Aloud Day” in which students performed select poems to celebrate Black History Month. We recently partnered with Truce Media to create a virtual graduation. We believe in the importance of the arts. Looking ahead to 2021-2022, we will continue to provide opportunities to engage all students in multi-disciplinary arts programming.

The arts program was decimated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With remote, blended, and in-person learning rotating throughout the year, combined with scheduling set forth by the central NYCDOE eliminating prep periods, it was impossible to conduct an arts program this year.

At PS 23K, we are committed to providing our students access to a wide variety of arts programming. This year we focused on supporting students with social and emotional well-being through an EASE grant to work with Urban Arts and the 92nd Street Y. Through the CASA Grant, we were able to provide an afterschool program for students in grades 2-5 and provided a variety of materials and resources. Students met weekly and designed projects that gave them opportunities to express their feelings/emotions through their creations. Students were in a multi-leveled group and mixed abilities. This provided flexibility in the project outcomes and many opportunities to students to exhibit their creativity. Students used clay and made animations. Students in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade participated in dance classes. Students in second grade engaged in music classes and were part of an audience at four different concerts. This partnership was with the 92nd Street Y. It is our goal to continue these programs.

Because of the pandemic, many residency programming were suspended or moved to virtual platforms to accommodate remote and blended students. For the 2020-2021 school year, PS 34 was provided arts instruction by Eckford Street Studio and Sci-Art. The classroom teachers incorporated art projects and thematic art assignments for students in the various learning models. We hope a full return to in-person arts programming for next school year.

We have an extensive arts program at MS 50 that combines in-school arts curricula (music, band, visual arts) provided by two full-time licensed art/music teachers, our Integrated Arts Program (IAP) that partners community school teaching artists with content area teachers to integrate theater, visual arts, music and dance into our content area curricula), and diverse arts programming as part of our Expanded Learning Time (ELT). El Puente’s IAP includes a codified professional development/training curriculum to support teachers to work with teaching artists to create integrated lesson plans and theme-based projects that will enrich the math curriculum. MS 50 has also partnered wtih El Puente to engage its resident mural group, Los Muralistas de El Puente, to create community murals on MS50’s large exterior wall on Roebling Street as well as on several interior school walls. Along with creating murals for the school, Los Muralistas will facilitate an interdisciplinary mural painting initiative. Students will gather oral histories in social studies, design mural proposals in English Language Arts (ELA), study scaling in math, and analyze effects of erosion on different paints/surfaces in science. In addition to this, we are also partnering with Los Muralistas to create a mural project that'll show how the community experienced the Covid 19 pandemic in a process of collective healing.

P.S. 59 is passionate about utilizing the arts as motivation to enhance academic performance. Within the last 3 years, our school has increased the number of performances and assemblies for student enrichment through arts-based programming. There is now a dance program for grades Pre-K through 5, where students engage in a well-rounded experience in the school's new state-of-the-art dance studio. The students' dance experiences allow them to create dance productions for school assemblies, including giving them the overall hands-on experience and knowledge of stage production, choreography, set design and costumes.

Our students are also involved in all aspects of our annual Disney Jr. theater production which has been the highlighted end of year event at P.S. 59 for the past 5 years. The Disney Jr. production has given the students the opportunity to showcase their theatrical skills and talents in song, dance, and visual arts.

P.S. 59 has a Fashion Design Program which gives students the opportunity to explore fashion industry related careers and hands on fashion projects. The program produces 2 annual school-based fashion shows, with additional opportunities throughout the year for students to showcase their talents with community organizations and partners.

In addition, this year we have implemented a photography, visual arts, choir and a music production club where students are allowed to develop, create, and express their artistic skills in these disciplines.

PS 84's arts program is a very comprehensive one following the Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. The arts are integrated in all the content areas using a variety of media and techniques. We are very fortunate to be a part of a community that is enriched with a variety of artists, galleries and studios. Our continuous collaboration with various arts residencies have enriched the arts educations of all our students. Additionally, we have partnered with cultural arts organizations to ensure that every grade K-8 is provided with instruction in the arts that is tailored to their developmental needs and interests. Our educators and partner arts organizations are evolving arts instruction to provide students with access to rich programming regardless of it being in-person or remote.

Creativity flows at PS 120 Magnet School of Architecture, Engineering and Design. Through the arts, all students engage in a rigorous, rich, and exciting hands-on curriculum centered around architecture, engineering, and design while fostering a love of education. PS 120 has many residency programs focusing on various arts disciplines. Unfortunately, this year those residencies had to stop as schools came to a close mid March. Throughout our school year, each grade focuses on a variety of cultures and countries through the lens of science and social studies. In June, we have a culminating festival where the students display all their work. In the art room, using the Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts as our guide, the children study artists and their works, indigenous crafts, native clothing as well as sites and architecture associated with their curriculum. Trips at PS 120 are curriculum based to enhance the subject area about which the students are learning. Our Magnet grant affords our students new learning experiences with art and technology to think outside the box and to become global citizens. The learning comes alive through visual arts, music, theater, dance and design

John Ericsson Middle School 126, the Magnet School for Environmental Engineering, endeavors to provide students with a robust arts education that partners art with social awareness and justice. The Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), the Blueprint for teaching and learning Art, and Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education (CR-SE) guide are teaching practices.
As we provided students with blended and remote instruction, students used photoshop, pixelart.com, and other online platforms to create works of art that represented the various cultures and social movements we studied this year. For example, students studied the masks worn during the Dominican Republic's Independence Day Parades and then created their own. Students studied Banksy's political street art and created their own art that illuminated a social issue such as gun violence and the lack of rights for LGBTQ+ persons.
Our students studied the elements of art, famous female artists, created poem art, and participated in art contests. Through their artist's statements, students reflect on their learning and explain their process. Reading articles and participating in discussions to analyze and interpret art, our students are exposed to a well-rounded art experience at MS126.
Q43 1
Our school is a culturally diverse school. Our student population is 67% LatinX, 27% Black or African American, and 6% White. Twenty-one percent of our students are ELL/former ELLs, and thirty percent of our students have IEPs.
We use this information to guide our conversations about our students and in making decisions about our curriculum. We use the NYCDOE core curriculums and modify them to meet the needs of our students. We use culturally responsive texts to help our students see themselves in literature and teach them about other cultures. We use discussions, graphic organizers, and writing activities to increase student engagement and student voice. Our students participate in cultural activities, contests, and debates to boost their self-confidence and self-advocacy. At MS126, we provide students with a world-class educational experience.

At PS 147, the arts support other subjects such as literacy, science, social studies, and math. While we do not have a full-time certified arts teacher on staff, we do utilize the talents of various outside teaching artists to provide visual and performing arts instruction to students in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to in-school teaching artist residencies and workshops, students attend off-site field trips which provide authentic arts learning experiences in all genres of the arts. All classroom teachers have been trained in visual thinking strategies and arts instruction is aligned with New York State Arts Standards as well as ArtsCount and the NYCDOE Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.
Q43 1
Due to COVID-19, our school relied heavily on virtual residencies, workshops and field trips. Some of these activities were funded through grants or via the school budget, but many came about as a result of the relationships we have built with community arts partners. Their generosity of time and expertise facilitated a significant portion of PS 147's arts education programming during the 2020-2021 academic year. Though funds were limited this year, we were able to provide authentic arts experiences for our students through these partnerships as well as through the infusion of art into the curriculum by our teachers and AIS support staff. We are hopeful that next year's budget will allow us to continue to provide this vital component of elementary education to our students.

At P.S. 250, we believe that the creative and performing arts foster the creativity and critical thinking skills necessary for developing strong connections in our student learning. We believe that the arts have the power to connect disciplines, communicate and express profound content, heal, captivate, motivate, enhance, and expand our consciousness. Our school offers art instruction with a full-time licensed art teacher emphasizing a blended approach. Students develop their artistic skills by experimenting with a variety of materials as well as their problem solving skills by planning and executing art projects.

Since 2008, we were recognized as the Magnet School of the Performing Arts and we have been committed to continuing the arts program at our school. During the pandemic, our teachers continued to offer classroom-level art projects for our in-person and fully remote students. We have offered virtual after-school arts and dance programs for our students and parents.

Even though we are undergoing a pandemic, the art instructor allowed students to use sustainable household items to create various art projects. This was helpful for our remote students. Our school also set up a system for getting supplies to all students every Wednesday.

At Brooklyn Arbor Elementary, we infuse the arts into the curriculum wherever possible. We believe that the arts play an integral role in child development and foster the creativity and critical thinking skills necessary for a happy and productive life. This year our school offered instruction with a full-time licensed art teacher as well as a plethora of enrichment activities pertaining to the visual and performing arts. Next year we plan on expanding musical education and performance opportunities for our students. Classroom teachers often include music and movement in their activities and also engage students in visual arts projects pertaining to their units of study. We also have a unique parent-led initiative, the Materials Depot. In the Depot, we organize recyclables as well as donated items. Throughout the day, teachers can browse through the meticulously organized bins and load up on inspiration and supplies. This system promotes our school's mission of environmental consciousness and sustainability.

2020-21 was an atypical school year with reduced arts programs due to online schooling and Covid restrictions. Typically, 9th and 10th grade art courses meet for a full-year on half-time basis meeting twice a week on rotational schedule. In 9th grade, students are enrolled in the Foundations in Art course. The course covers studio practices and foundational skills in 2D art-making (design, drawing, and painting). In 10th grade, students are enrolled in Art & Society which is a studio-integrated art history course. The course covers art movements from ancient and modern societies and examines questions surrounding the purpose of art, and the relationship between visual imageries and societal values, influence vs. appropriation. IB Visual Arts and IB Theater are two-year full-time elective courses offered in 11th and 12th grades. In IB Visual Arts, students investigate and analyze works of art by various artists while developing a portfolio. They document their process in their visual arts journals as they explore and develop ideas. In IB Theater, students explore theater history, theory and practice through the lens of a scholar, a historian, an audience member, and a practitioner. After school, students engage in studio art, drama, music, and dance enrichment programs at Brooklyn Latin. Public performances are exhibited at least twice a year for these programs.
Q43 1
Modeled after the prestigious Boston Latin School and founded in 2006, The Brooklyn Latin School (TBLS) provides a classical liberal arts education, including the study of Latin. The curriculum provides the groundwork for an understanding of the foundation of our society, while also developing the leadership capacity of our students to become leaders in their community. The enrollment is based on the New York City SHSAT (specialized high school admissions test).
The Brooklyn Latin School offers an all “honors” curriculum taught by an accomplished staff. All courses presented on the student’s transcript represent challenging academic experiences to courses offered at other schools. All students are required to adhere to our core curriculum, with four years of Latin, English, history, mathematics, science, and at least two years of a modern language. Students can expect a strong—and continuing—emphasis on structured writing and public speaking, as well as an overarching practice of the kind of analytical thinking that will ensure preparedness for the rigors of college work.
The Brooklyn Latin School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) School. Under the IB Diploma Programme, all 11th and 12th grade TBLS students engage in a rigorous two year course of eligible to receive an IB diploma, which is widely recognized and respected by prestigious universities.

The performing arts department at PROGRESS High School for Professional Careers is one of the biggest in NYC. We have four full concert bands, three jazz bands, four piano classes, and numerous chamber groups such as guitar ensemble (modern band) and clarinet choir. A spring musical is held each year. Students have the option of majoring in music. The instrumental, theater, and modern band programs draw from all three schools in the campus and allow students to perform at their ability level regardless of age or experience. All musical ensembles compete annually at the NYSSMA festival where they have received Gold and Gold with Distinction awards. Our visual arts department offers students instruction in the foundations of drawing and painting, stage design, graphic arts, and sculpture. Advanced students may move on to studio art class and Advanced Placement Studio Art. The campus is host to the All City High School Marching Band and the All City High School Concert Band in which many Grand Street Campus students participate. The campus also hosts the Brooklyn Wind Symphony, Grand Street Community Band and Kings County Concert Band whose performances are free to students and their families.

For the school year 2020-21, East Williamsburg Scholars Academy offers music, visual arts, theater, guitar, and percussion courses for all students. The Grand Street Campus collaboratively provides the music program for all three schools. Its music program is one of the finest not only on the city level but the state level as well. The program consists of four full concert bands, three jazz bands as well as classes in guitar and music appreciation. The campus puts on a spring musical open to students from all three schools. Students may take a four-year major in music. The Grand Street bands have won awards on both the city and state level. The ARTSmart program provides one-on-one vocal lessons for any interested students, and the school offers a full musical theater program.
Q43 1
The curriculum of the classes was very different with remote learning. But we intend to return to the full music program this coming fall.

PS 107 has a rich and varied arts program that includes weekly instruction with educators who are highly effective in their disciplines. Our students also enjoy many PTA funded arts residencies in dance, musical theater, and improvisational theater. We feel strongly that arts education is essential for all children in that it provides multiple opportunities for high levels of critical thinking and discourse. Classes in each grade participate in a variety of arts-related field trips. These experiences, in addition to our school-based arts programming and residencies, provide students with valuable experiences and an understanding of the arts as an important creative outlet. Our students are able to develop a deeper understanding of these arts disciplines while at the same time making rich and lasting connections to literacy, math, social studies, and science.
Q43 1
This year our residencies, field trips and in-school arts performances and exhibits were limited by the pandemic and related restrictions on sharing supplies, instruments and equipment and social distancing requirements. We anticipate returning our arts programs to their full vigor in the 2021-2022 school year as those restrictions are relaxed.

Our visual arts department offers students instruction in the foundations of drawing and painting. Advanced students may move on to studio art classes and Advanced Placement Art History. Students are given the opportunity to participate in the All City High School Concert Band and Marching Band both of which are hosted at the Grand Street Campus.

The Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design (WHSAD) is a 9-12 college preparatory school committed to developing students as imaginative critical thinkers. Our curriculum builds a foundation of visual knowledge, skills, and literacy for creative problem solving as students are exposed to design and architecture in stand-alone courses as well as having these studies infused into their core academic courses. WHSAD promotes academic achievement through the integration of a student’s career interests and aptitude to classroom learning and to the world in which we live. Partnered with the World Monuments Fund and the Park Avenue Armory, WHSAD offers students a unique and engaging four-year course sequence with a focus in architectural drafting, design principles, and historic preservation. WHSAD students can earn a Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsed diploma in Architectural Drafting and Design and up to six college credits upon graduation from our program. All of our students are given the opportunity to participate in paid internships with industry partners.

Williamsburg Prep’s current art program focuses on arts exposure for the 9th grade and more advanced introductory art classes for upper classmen. We also offer an Advanced Placement 2D Design class to upper grade levels who have attended art classes in 9th grade and show interest and perform with higher art skill levels. Ninth grade students currently attend studio art, dance, and theater or creative writing. Juniors and Seniors are offered drawing, introduction to painting, and coding classes. Students not in art classes can attend afterschool art club, theater club, and/or dance club. Students have opportunities to showcase their work through art displays in the hallways and talent shows and theater partnerships.

At MS582, scholars will be introduced to our magnet themes of multimedia, technology, and urban planning via the arts. With a predominant focus on urban planning, each sixth grade unit is designed to focus on a different aspect of urban planning, and what that means as a community member. Sixth grade scholars will explore digital photography, advertising, engineering, and model making through an urban planning lense.
As they transition into grade seven, scholars will explore technology, engineering, product photography, and advertising as they create invention prototypes. They will take on the role of an entrepreneur and brainstorm, design, and build model prototypes which they must brand, market, and advertise for a target audience.
As eighth graders, scholars will further engage in concepts of marketing, branding and web design as they develop a web based digital portfolio containing their best work and accomplishments while at MS582.

At Lyons, we believe the arts are fundamental to learning and should be part of each student's education. Students participate in dance classes every year and visual arts as a stand-alone class multiple times throughout their time at our school. Other visual arts, theater, and music are electives both during and afterschool. Though we did not have our annual Shakespeare Festival or Talent Shows this year, we still did the Middle School Musical, albeit virtually. We believe new experiences and new ideas are essential to any education and as such we hope to resume our travel through our field studies and elective programs allowing students to have greater access to New York City as soon as we are able. Of course, this includes the tremendous arts resources and opportunities available in our city.

El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice strives to provide all students with rich, inspiring, and culturally relevant engagement in the performing and visual arts. Classes include visual arts, dance, drama, theater tech/production, and quilting classes taught by our staff artists and teaching artists from our community arts partner, El Puente. Teaching artists also partner with classroom teachers to integrate the arts into academic classes to create student centered learning that supports different learning modalities. We schedule regular cultural celebrations that allow our students to collaborate with their peers in producing explorations and expressions that reflect a mastery of both the arts and issues they explore through their classes. We provide our students with on-going opportunities and mentoring in the arts (both in-school and with outside arts institutions) that allow them to develop mastery over their four years at the academy and a life-long love and appreciation of the arts. We were forced by the COVID-19 pandemic related school closures and subsequent remote learning to reconfigure our six annual "community cultural celebrations". We reimagined these important cultural events using Zoom to keep the traditons of student led performances and workshops alive and to use the arts to keep our community connected and healthy through this year.

Q42 1 Rev
It is our goal to educate the whole child, and it is for that reason that we have a full-time visual arts teacher and music teacher. We have also pursued and received grants that support the arts in our school. Through collaborations with teaching artists and partnerships with art institutions like The Metropolitan Opera Guild and The National Dance Institute, every child experiences a variety of music/performance based arts activities. All students, including those with special needs, are exposed to opera, Broadway musicals, and visual arts projects.
Q43 1
This year, due to necessary restructuring in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we experienced quite a few changes to the Arts programing. Our theater teacher, moved to a classroom teacher capacity for this school year. Although we did not have a full-time music teacher this year, we are excited to be bringing in a full-time music teacher for the coming school year. In addition, the pandemic had an impact on our ability to hold large in-person arts events. However, students were able to participate in and/or attend virtual dance, theater, and music performances, as well as visual arts exhibits. We are looking forward to expanding our relationships with cultural organizations in the next school year, as a way to continue providing students with a variety of arts education opportunities.

PS 15, The Patrick F. Daly Magnet School of the Arts, is a STEAM school with a focus on project based learning. Our units of study are interdisciplinary, and the arts are infused throughout the curriculum. It is our goal for students to see and explore themselves as artists. We reserve time for the arts not only through our units of study but in direct service in the areas of music and visual arts. Every class in the building receives at least one residency with a teaching artist and community organization in the area of theater, digital arts, visual arts, movement and/or music. We believe the arts are a vital and vibrant component to any school community, and we are fortunate to offer our students the opportunity to explore, perform, and create every day.

The arts are embedded into the curriculum at Brooklyn New School PS 146. Students receive classes with a music and visual arts teacher and instruction provided by teaching artists from the Brooklyn Arts Exchange. Both the visual arts and performance arts are developed through the social studies curriculum within the classroom. In our third, fourth and fifth grades, students participate in arts workshops where they create models of crafts from other cultures. Open ended inquiry allows students to use the arts for exploration. In this way, students apply the skills learned in the visual arts, music, and theater classes to develop their own creations, whether these be skits, shadow puppet theater, models of buildings, or other visual and musical expressions.

During the 2020-2021 school year, our students continued to receive arts instruction with some partnerships we had in the previous school year through virtual residencies due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. We continued our collaboration with TheatreMoves as recipients of a partial Students With Disabilities/English Langauge Learners (SWD/ELL) grant. They provided theater and literacy instruction to all 1st grade and Horizon program classes. Through a CASA grant, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music provided music and movement instruction to students in grades K-2, recorder in grade 3, ukulele in grade 4, and chorus in grade 5. Our visual arts teacher worked closely with grades Pre-K through grade 2, and our computer science teacher worked with grades 3-5 to integrate the arts into our literacy curriculum. All classroom teachers worked creatively and tirelessly to integrate dance, music, theater and visual arts in classroom instruction, both in person and remotely, throughout the curriculum.

Our active PTA arts committee oversees art events in our school and in collaboration with the PS 29 administration, helps to identify, research, and make recommendations for collaborations with world-class cultural organizations including: Brooklyn/Queens Conservatory of Music (BQCM) American Ballroom Theater’s Dancing Classrooms, Brooklyn Academy of Music, African Dance, STREB, and educational partnership with Bent on Learning, Yoga, and Let's Play Chess. This past year because of COVID restrictions we were not able to schedule these collaborations within our school building.

Our goal as an arts committee and school is for all students at PS 29 to have a well-rounded arts education. The PTA continues to make the arts a priority in their annual budget, and we look forward to participating in these programs for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to the cultural organizations our school has supported the arts by continuing to hire full time music, fine arts, and theater teachers.

Arts are celebrated at William Alexander Middle School 51. All students choose from a variety of studios in grade 6 and then embark on a three-year in-depth study of that art form. All student work is celebrated through a variety of shows, on-line galleries and displays. Students are given opportunities to expand knowledge with a variety of trips, in-school performances and afterschool programs. All students are able to participate in additional art forms during the afterschool programs.

Here at PS 58 we believe in an in-depth and well-rounded arts program. We think of the arts program at our school as an essential learning experience for all of our students. During this school year, we have a remote and in-school arts program. Our program includes music and the visual arts. In previous years, we have supplemented with outside organizations to include the arts that weren't presented by our arts teachers. This year because of COVID protocol we were not able to work with any outside organizations. This year our arts teachers worked to create relevant, thoughtful, and culturally responsive curriculums to engage students in many creative processes remotely and in person. Each child at our school is given the opportunity to engage in a thoughtful arts program throughout the school year.
Q43 1
In the 2021-22 school year we are hoping to bring back all the arts programming with all COVID protocols in place. All arts rooms, such as the art studio, will be a designated art room again.

Middle School 88's art program's goal is to ensure that the arts enable our students to be agents of their learning and to ensure that they are given a multitude of opportunities to develop, craft, express, and share their voice. We believe that the arts truly benefit and support all of our diverse learners and provides them with many possibilities to understand all forms of literacy (digital, media, visual, data, news) and opportunities to express themselves through different art forms.
