At P.S./I.S. 323, it is important that our students acquire skills to produce and perform dance, drama, music, and visual arts. They also learn to use media, tools, and technologies. This enables them to shape ideas and emotions into sounds, images, and actions. As students create and perform their own artworks and review the works of others, they will become more imaginative, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and learn to respond to the creativity of others.

P.S. 327 Dr. Rose B. English is a community school. Our arts programs are provided by The Leadership Program for all enrolled students throughout the school day and the 21st Century Community Learning Center. In addition, our students receive martial arts/capoeira instruction through CARE. Music, theater and dance is provided by OPUS Dance Group throughout the school year by The Leadership Program.
Q43 1
Due to covid-19 our current enrollment are as follows:

In person - 30%
Remote - 60%

Our in person and afterschool arts program has been scaled back tremendously due social distancing protocols and shortened hours. We hope to fully engage our students during the 2021-2022 school year.

Q42 1 Rev
Arts education continues to be a part of the everyday experience of students at I.S. 392. Our students are provided a well-rounded education that includes a balance of academics and arts, both during the day and afterschool. Yearly, our commitment to the arts is highlighted through our residencies in ceramics, theater, photography, and poetry writing with resident artists. This year, although virtual, we provided violin classes, pottery, steel pan, dance and vocal classes. Our theater students were able to perform a series of virtual monologues after watching various productions in class and receiving instruction from our drama teacher. This year our students at I.S. 392 also had an opportunity to audition for a role in our virtual production of Broadway Jr.’s "Dear Edwina.” This is the fifth year with this program, and our students and staff work diligently to put on a production that is attended by neighboring schools, as well as our superintendent and elected officials. Broadway Jr. has allowed our students to sharpen their skills in vocal music and dance over the past three years. In addition, art students have worked to create virtual sets for the recording of our theatrical production. To incorporate art forms of diverse cultural groups, we have added steel pan, stilt-walking and costume design in our arts offerings.

Our current arts program at Riverdale Avenue Community School consists of full-time programs in music, visual arts, and multi media. All units are aligned with the NYC Blueprints for the Arts and NYS Learning Standards for the Arts. Teachers collaborated on a virtual performance this year. Partnerships with the Jazz at Lincoln Center group was a great virtual experience for the students this year.

KAPPA V Knowledge and Power Preparatory Academy recognizes that each child is an individual, that all children are creative and all children have the ability to succeed. Success can come in the form of academics and artistic talents. Because of this, we strive to expose our students to various arts disciplines: when the arts are incorporated into every discipline students demonstrate a better understanding of the curriculum. Our students are exposed to visual arts, photography, various forms of dance, musical theater and steel pan. Our goal is to tap into the hidden talents of our students, while creating the best version of themselves.

Students at Metropolitan Diploma Plus High School engage in a visual arts program aligned with the NYCDOE Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Visual Arts. Students research a variety of social justice issues and select a social issue of importance, then analyze artists who create works of art based on social issues. Students explore ideas based on specific artists and create their own works related to their chosen social justice issue. They write reflections and engage in self and peer assessments, and engage in student-led discussions to increase their academic vocabulary and gain a deeper understanding of the content.

Brooklyn Environmental Exploration School (BEES) is a small middle school. As such, we use a variety of means to incorporate the arts into our programming. We have a visual arts teacher and all students take a visual arts classes two periods per week. This year we partnered with The Town Hall Foundation for three separate in-school artist residencies. We hosted The Town Hall teaching artists in dance, theater and creative writing; all students participated in the residencies. Additionally, we are a New Victory theater education partner school. This means BEES students attend virtual performances often at New Victory on 42nd Street.

Mott Hall Bridges Academy (MHBA) is fully committed to continuing to provide an arts program that caters to the creative and artistic needs of our talented scholars. Scholars will continue to study the work of great artists like Benny Bing and Tiffany B Chanel and connect with them as they hear their personal stories and have important conversations about their work. This will provide a great opportunity for ongoing dialogue and mentorship interactions between scholars and artists, especially for scholars who are preparing for entry into a performing arts high school or thinking of pursuing a career in the arts. We will continue to work with PureElements to offer visual and performing arts courses that offer our scholars choices in dance, theater, music production, drumming, photography, etc. Our goal is to strengthen these partnerships, increase scholars' exposure to varying artists and their work, partner with a gallery to have scholars' work displayed, and pursue the possibility of scholars using their entrepreneurial skills to market their their art and becoming working artists. We remain “Connected to Succeed!”

The students at Teachers Preparatory High School will continue to increase their artistic knowledge and techniques, exploring different art movements and artists allowing them to deepen their understanding of different time periods, cultures and social issues that have impacted the art world. The students will have a better grasp of the vocabulary and concepts in which they are working. Working independently and as a class they will create and implement their artistic vision. Also the introduction to computer- based art will be introduced and the concepts of art in the new world of technology. The American College of Physics students will continue to hone their technical skills and will be given the opportunity to become more independent with their own artistic expression and ideas, branching out to more deeply explore artistic movements, concepts and themes. The students will know the basic artistic techniques and will develop and apply them in their own art projects. The students will also be able to link their artistic knowledge with concepts that crossover into dance and theater. For example, movement, rhythm, balance, form, space, themes, gesture, flow and weight are all key components of the arts. Everyone will culminate and be evident at the Arts Fest, where all the components come together to create a cohesive performance among the students across all three major disciplines.

The Fine and Performing Arts Program (FPA) at I.S. 5 The Walter Crowley Intermediate School engages students in work that embraces creative and culturally responsive means for expression and individuality, critical thinking, and an empowered student voice in an environment that supports innovation and inspiration. Our school offers arts education in all of the four arts: dance, drama, music, and visual arts. We offer a tech course that routinely integrates film/documentary work. We are also slated to receive a full upgrade of our onsite TV studio through capital funding and look forward to outlining its use as part of FPA studies in the coming years. The FPA Department allows all of our students the ability to experience the arts. Our teachers make social emotional and art-centered connections with our students. In the coming year, as we learn further about requirements for art study, we will be looking for innovative solutions in partnerships, and branching out to include opportunities for our families to enjoy as well.

During the 2020-2021 school year, MFTA worked with our school, and we were able to have "live" sessions on Wednesdays, which focused on music and arts. Students and families participated across our 5 sites during this hour. We were also able to plant a school garden and grow microgreens in classrooms, which also influenced the content of students' art work painted with water colors.

At P.S. 12 James B. Colgate, we believe that our role as a school should go beyond teaching the core subjects and that we must emphasize the importance of the arts in the development of every student. Arts education and engagement are embedded into our school’s curriculum throughout every grade and content area. During the 2020-21 school year, all first and second grade students participated in a mini Together in Dance residency incorporating social and emotional learning into dance. Through this residency students’ emotional learning was incorporated into creative movement. Materials For The Arts provided virtual meets where students had the excitement of class trips through hands-on visual arts classes. Teachers incorporate the arts into their social studies and science curriculum to offer our students the opportunity to appreciate our world from different perspectives. Our school embeds culturally responsive education through our arts programs. At P.S. 12, we are committed to celebrating our diverse student population through the arts.

Q42 1 Rev
Here at P.S. 13 Clement C. Moore, we continued to encourage our school community to be engaged in the arts even during this challenging year. We continued many of our programs virtually. For example, we continued our partnership with Inside Broadway, NYC Ballet, and Ballet Hispanico. We also began a new partnership with the Pratt Institute, as well as Community Partnership and Outreach to provide a program called “Girls Who Code” for our students in grades 2-5. The students in this program created unique and special graphic art design projects. Students in these programs had the opportunity to showcase their talents and learn even more in theater, dance, and, art. Shows were put on virtually for the benefit of the parents as well. Students shared that their experiences were positive and they were excited that they were able to participate in arts programs that they enjoy.

P.S. 16 The Nancy DeBenedittis School strives to align its curriculum with the NYC Blueprints for the Arts, implement school-wide enrichment and accelerate learning for each student in music, visual arts, dance and theater. Our school strives to enrich the curriculum through morning arts programs, daily school arts programming, monthly field trips, residencies and implementation of enrichment clusters in the arts during the day and in an after school rotating program. Our school hopes to sustain partnerships with cultural organizations in the arts including the Dancing Classrooms, and Dance Wave. Our school will continue to seek and forge new alliances to further enhance arts programming.

P.S./I.S. 49 Dorothy Bonawit Kole has continued its strong focus on the arts in the 2020-21 school year. We continue to offer music, dance, theater, and visual arts to our elementary students. Our middle school students are offered music and visual arts. We worked with Studio in a School to increase arts opportunities for students with disabilities. We also received a Children’s After School Arts (CASA) grant through City Council Member Bob Holden, which allowed students the opportunity to work with artists from Studio in a School after school. This year, our students' visual arts work will be featured in the PS Art exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the Queens Borough Arts Festival.

P.S. 58 The School of Heroes strives to provide all students with the chance to participate in visual arts, music, theater, and dance programs in compliance with the NYS Blueprints for Arts. Students in grades Pre-K -6 receive music, visual arts, theater, and dance instruction on a weekly basis from both full-time school-based arts teachers and their classroom teachers, who further enhance their classroom arts curriculum through drama lessons. Students present their culminating projects in visual arts, music, dance, and drama through classroom projects, online presentations and bulletin board displays throughout the year. P.S.58 follows the Music and the Brain program, which incorporates music history, music literacy and keyboard.

I.S. 61 Leonardo Da Vinci has offered a complete performing and visual arts program, which includes theater, music (band and strings), visual arts, media arts, and dance for the past ten years. Our students participated in virtuallly in visual arts, dance, film, music, and theater classes. They were engaged as our teachers worked hard to move their arts classrooms into the virtual world. As a school community we worked diligently to keep the arts alive for our students. Teachers were teaching afterschool to keep our students motivated and engaged in the arts.

At P.S. 68 Cambridge, we strive to educate the whole child. Our goal is to equip our students with the ability to express themselves through art, to enhance their lives by the arts, and to gain a valuable appreciation of the arts as a vital component of their education. We brought outside virtual experiences into our school and used volunteers with kindergarten to create a digital performance. We implemented a virtual annual holiday musical event alongside our annual dance festival. We maintained our partnership with Studio in a School, which culminates in a school-wide visual arts exhibit and celebration. We had the opportunity to work with ArtsConnection again in afterschool virtual dance classes.. PTA increased our arts with recorded monthly art projects that were shared with our school community. We hope to partner again with PTA and Greater Ridgewood Youth Council to include in-person programs and seasonal schoolwide events which include visual arts experiences, as well as music and dance opportunities next year.
Q43 1
We are a Title 1 school with approximately 18% English language learners, although most come from bilingual families, and 17% Students with Disabilities. This year approximately half of our students chose remote learning preferences.

At P.S. 71 Forest Elementary, we feel that students should be exposed to all forms of art. All of our students from kindergarten to 5th grade are scheduled for either music, the visual arts or dance (through physical education) instruction given by either a classroom teacher or a licensed arts teacher. We look forward to the continuation of the Forest Elementary extra-curricular program. The program consisted of the Forest Elementary Mini-Cheer Club (K-2) and Senior Cheer Club (3-5), that offered students in all grades an opportunity to audition and engage in dance-orientated routines. The cheer clubs also routinely competed in cheer competitions throughout the city, state, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The arts program we design for the scholars at I.S. 73 The Frank Sansivieri Intermediate School considers not only what is required by New York State, but also to give them what they need to succeed in our ever-changing society. Our belief is that an arts education enhances the intellectual and emotional lives of children by stimulating their imagination, improving communication skills (including analysis and critical thinking) and strengthening visual literacy. It promotes emotional intelligence and builds character by encouraging multicultural awareness and acceptance. It instills self-discipline, inspires respect for craftsmanship and gives families an opportunity to share, explore, and celebrate ideas and feelings that children may not be able to put into words. The sixth grade students experience within their school year all the disciplines we offer at the school. This is done by offering a new course in each school semester. Students in 7th and 8th grade are given the choice to select the discipline they wish to pursue. This is done by providing the students with an arts survey. The arts program we provide our scholars is not restricted to the classrooms they are offered in. We partner with various arts organizations that provide student workshops, teaching artists, and in-school and out of school arts presentation to inspire our students and nurture their academic resume.

At I.S. 77, we value arts education. Our students participate in multiple trips to arts high schools and visual arts exhibits. We enter arts contests and win. Our band director, in collaboration with a teaching artist, recruits neighboring elementary school students by going on tour with the afterschool band. Through our partnership with Arts Horizons, we offer monthly assemblies for all students. Multiple residencies with Arts Horizons, Arts Connection and LeAp supplement our arts program. Through a grant, students have been offered various arts enrichment programs of their choice. The students involved in these programs have displayed their artwork and various other projects in a culminating gallery exhibition and performance. Our chorus gets invited to perform with St. Francis Prep at the Hallelujah Concert every year. Parents are always invited and welcomed to support and participate at these events.

At P.S./I.S. 087 Middle Village our goal continues to be to provide students with extensive exposure to as many arts experiences as possible. In addition to the visual arts and dance programs currently in our school, we have continued our daily and monthly arts celebrations the best we could during this unprecedented year. Our daily Village News musical announcements continue to be a huge hit with our students, even though they were online. During remote learning, the arts continued through online lessons with live meet ups and recorded instruction from our visual arts and dance teachers. We showcased their hard work through videos posted on the Google Classroom and Class Dojo. Once we returned to the school in March, we were able to partner with The Rego Park Green Alliance and create artwork for a fence installation project for our school. The theme was anti-bullying and how to stand up for what is right. The children designed artwork that was judged and chosen to be transformed onto metal discs which will be installed on the fence in front of our school. We look forward to having all students back in person in September to resume our rich arts program throughout the school.

At P.S. 88 Seneca, we have implemented a rich music experience that all students have access to, whether in person or remote. Our licensed music teacher has secured multiple grants to provide instruments such as guitars, bucket drums, ukeleles, keyboards, and drums to name a few. Students are learning about creating digital music through a software program. We have also partnered with a fellow District 24 school (PS 89Q) for a combined glee club. We have incorporated visual arts in the classrooms through the classroom teacher, as well as a Saturday academy with Creative Art Works.

P.S. 089 Elmhurst's art program strives to enrich our students through the arts. Our goal is to help children learn to express themselves in varied ways, which may include creating art, talking about art, sharing their unique abilities and potentially develop a lifelong awareness and participation in the arts. Through sensitive adult guidance, children are aided in mastering pivotal moves in the artistic process: the creation of ideas for personal expression, the discovery of visual qualities to express ideas and feelings, and the use of media to convey an expressive intent. A strong sense of pride is created in our students through our continued concentration on the cultural diversity of our student population. Through the varied arts media, students are taught about different cultures by learning native songs and dances as well as art history. One goal that we achieved for our 2020-21 school year was to have every single student receive one or more arts disciplines throughout the school year. This year we hosted two annual Arts Expos, one in the fall and one in the spring, which honored the work of every student who participated. We welcomed the entire school community - students, staff members, family and community members to view the expo in a remote format.
Q43 1
During this unusual year, 2 of our arts teachers were pulled from their programs to teach first grade remote classes. The dance, music, and art rooms were utilized for classrooms only. Dance, music, and art classes were taught remotely via google classroom and zoom. Only some dance classes were taught in person in the gym space.

At P.S. 091 Richard Arkwright, our goals for the coming school year are to continue to integrate the arts curriculum into our common core curriculum. We will continue to work with our current residensies which are the Marquis Studio, as well as Ping Chong and Company. We are hoping to continue working with Dancing Classrooms for our fifth grade students this year. We have been very fortunate to bring these organizations to our students virtually through Google Meets and Zoom platforms, both during and after school hours. As restrictions are being lifted, we will encourage teachers to take field trips to the many cultural institutaions that NYC has to offer. This will continue to enrich our curriculum and instructional programs throughout the school.

We will continue to provide an arts program that will enrich and enhance learning across the disciplines. We have certified arts teachers servicing all our students in the arts, while aligning curriculum to the NYC Blueprints for the Arts, the New York State Standards, and the Common Core Curriculum. We continue implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) in K-2, where our science teachers incorporate art into their curriculum. Students’ work has been entered in multiple contests and successfully exhibited. Some of these competitions include the P.S. Art and the Little Kids Rock Songwriting Exhibition. The artist-in-residency Inside Broadway served our 3rd and 4th grades. In this program students learned to sing and dance to songs from Broadway musicals. We plan to resume an afterschool theater program and put on our annual large-scale musical production. The music department will resume their annual winter and spring concerts showcasing the talents of our chorus and band, a talent show for grades 5-8, as well as a "Battle of the Bands" run by our middle school music teacher in an afterschool program. The art department will resume our community building paint and drawing nights and our annual schoolwide Art Expo, where we showcase artwork for grades 3-8. We will also resume the dance program taught by a classroom teacher who works part-time with younger grades.

At P.S.110, we have a music program, an art program and a Dancing Classrooms residency. The goal of the music program at P.S. 110 is to support students in Grades K-5 to become independent composers, performers and learners of music. We use Orff pedagogy, where students learn music as they would learn a new language, and the theories and resources from Little Kids Rock to achieve this goal. The goal of the visual arts program at P.S.110 is to support students in grades K-2 to become creative artists. The students learn about artists throughout history by learning how to use art tools and techniques. The students follow the standards in the NYC Blueprints for the Arts. At P.S, 110, we also have Dancing Classrooms as a residency for our fifth graders. Students learn and practice different traditional dances from all over the world. We want to open our students' minds and allow them to channel their inner creativity. At P.S.110, the arts are valued highly and we strive to to incorporate art into instruction wherever we can.

At P.S./I.S. 113 Anthony J. Pranzo, our visual arts and music teachers provided creative remote and blended arts instruction. We were also able to provide two virtual concerts for our families and our holiday sing-along. We piloted the use of Soundtrap software to allow students to create their own musical tracks. These student creations were highlighted during Soundtrap’s celebratory showcase which featured their music in conjunction with our afterschool arts and photography programs through our Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) partnership. Next year, we plan to continue with our cultural arts partnerships, Children’s After School Arts (CASA), Ballroom Basix and American Dance Studio.

During the 2020-21 school year, the students at Public School 159Q were exposed to a variety of the arts. They were also able to participate in daily programs of the arts such as, music, theater, dance. All classroom teacher use "Go Noodle" with their students. (Go Noodle integrates music, song, and dance). In addition, all teachers have been trained in ""Move to Improve"" which incorporates music and movement. Our school has a full-time licensed visual arts teacher who provides instruction in the arts. The instruction includes; learning about famous artists, time periods of art movements, and connections between the content areas and the art work students are learning. Our full-time music teacher, has designed a program that teaches students about songs, reading music, and how to record music digitally. This year we did virtual field trips to museum and theatrical performances. This year we again received the Cultural After School Adventures (CASA) grant and offered virtual programs in Broadway dance, animation, Latin percussion, and circus arts.

P.S./I.S. 119 The Glendale offers a variety of performing arts to our students. We presently have a number of orchestras, bands, chorus, chamber winds, Music and the Brain keyboard (for our elementary students), and visual arts. The arts program is designed to connect with the other content areas and to meet National Standards for the Arts and implement the NYC Blueprints for the Arts. Students who audition for high schools in the arts receive individualized instruction to build their portfolios and prepare audition pieces. Parents and the community enjoy our shows and performances throughout the year.

Through remote learning and in person instruction, the arts program at P.S. 128 The Lorraine Tuzzo, Juniper Valley Elementary School was aligned with the New York State Literacy Standards as well as the NYC Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. Students were able to work with a wide range of strategies to create traditional and contemporary works of art in a creative setting. Projects are completed in units, where students build upon prior-learned skills in visual arts, music, and theater.

P.S. 143 Louis Armstrong is dedicated to immersing each and every child in the arts. Our certified visual arts, music, and theater teachers use their expertise, and the NYC Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, as a framework for designing challenging, purposeful, and creative lessons. To ensure that our students obtain a rich education in the arts, we are expanding our arts program to include certified dance teachers. We plan on creating clubs for all four art forms to supplement our students’ arts education, and to allow for more time to create special projects and performances. Students will have more opportunities to showcase their talents! Our strong partnerships with arts organizations further support our vision for the arts through residency programs, afterschool programs, trips, and performances. There is a strong family presence at our school, showing great support at exhibits and performances, which include venues at our own school and at Carnegie Hall. We are committed to supporting our students by providing them with an enriching, inspiring, and comprehensive arts education.

Developing awareness and appreciation of the arts for all students continues to be a fundamental goal of P.S. 153 Maspeth Elementary School. Each year, students in many grades participate in an arts residency through various outside agencies. Many of our classes participated in arts-related virtual field trips, through various arts and cultural organizations. It continues to be our goal to increase the number of students receiving arts instruction with arts cluster teachers. Recognizing that every child has interests and talents, we have been incorporating dance into our physical education program. We will continue to seek support from outside organizations to enhance our arts programs.

For the 2020-221 school year, P.S. 199 Maurice A. Fitzgerald has had arts partnerships with The New York City Ballet and New York City Children's Theatre (Making Books Sing, Inc.). Our partnership with The New York City Ballet provided a dance residence for nine three through fifth grade remote classes which culminated in a remote class performance. Classes were able to participate in theatrical performances provided by New York City Children's Theater (Making Books Sing, Inc.) and performances by NYC Ballet. Funding supports direct services to students, planning and professional development for school staff, materials and supplies. Our goal is to continue these arts partnerships for the 2021-22 school year.

Elm Tree Elementary School provides a culturally representative arts program to our students with diverse backgrounds. All of our students receive arts instruction from certified arts teachers (visual arts and music.) Our focus is to build technical and creative foundations through experiential work and practicum. The students exercise imagination, construct meanings, and depict their experiences; they work in multiple modalities and styles to gain knowledge of media and compositional elements. The students' creative work is celebrated by the school community during our winter and spring celebrations, during which students partake in performance opportunities and exhibitions of their artwork. This year, Elm Tree has experimented with the implementation of a dance curriculum via contract with Artist Year services in dance. Moving forward, as Elm Tree grows, we are committed to the expansion of Elm Tree's visual arts department in the variety and breadth of currently offered programs. In music classes, the curriculum focuses heavily on Kodaly and Orff methodologies, and also offers a modern band curriculum.

At P.S. 229 Emanuel Kaplan, we value arts in education. Whether the students are learning in-person or remotely, they are still immersed in a plethora of education in all of the arts disciplines. This year, we were able to offer all grades instruction in visual arts through our two visual arst teachers, both in person and virtually. In addition, our regular classroom teachers implement the arts in education throughout the day. Teachers in our building are constantly embarking on innovative projects in the arts such as reader's theater, songs and dances, visual arts projects, and virtual field trips to museums, films, and shows. Outside organizations play an important role in educating our children in the arts as well. We participate in ArtsConnection Puppetry and Midori and Friends Signature Series Concerts. Through these programs we are able to provide the students with valuable arts experiences. All children at P. S. 229 leave our school with a solid foundation in the arts.

Our visual arts department at Academy of Finance and Enterprise strove to ensure the same rigorous and challenging curriculum as our in-school program. Our visual arts program is designed to challenge students to think critically and creatively in the visual arts. Students are encouraged to bring personal and universal ideas about the world into their art, photography and video projects. Before beginning any project, students investigate social, political, historical and personal issues and discover ways in which the visual arts can communicate and support their ideas about those issues. Students keep a portfolio of their work culminating in a year end self-reflection. Students partake in independent field trips to museums and galleries to support classroom learning. Photography and yearbook are offered as elective classes, which build skills in the use of technology and in journalistic writing. The visual arts program at builds skills useful beyond high school and the arts, such as time management, meeting deadlines, problem solving and presentation skills.

High School of Applied Communication’s visual arts program features project-based learning for students in a range of traditional and digital media. Students learn about the real-world context for art and design and develop the ability to self-reflect and provide meaningful feedback to their peers in a critique setting. Students are exposed to various professions in the art and design fields and develop an understanding of how art and design permeate many aspects of daily life. Along with gaining proficiency in traditional visual arts media, such as painting, printmaking, and observational drawing, students have the opportunity harness their skills in digital media, learning photo editing, vector graphics, and web design. Students may even further increase their college and career readiness by opting for certification in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. For the 2021-22 school year, we are committed to bridging the gap between print and digital media, exploring mixed media projects that allow students to combine analog and digital techniques.

Pan American International High School (PAIHS) has an interdisciplinary, standards-aligned arts program that prioritizes equity in the classroom, literacy building, and the use of formative assessments to support students in achieving mastery of content. Our students' work continues to receive honors in various competitions and shows across the city and is celebrated in our annual Internationals Night Festival each winter and our PAIHS Visual and Performing Arts Showcase each spring. Our program currently includes studio art as well as advanced drawing and painting courses in our visual arts track. We also offer theater as a lens to access English language skills. We plan in the following year to rebuild our robust program and offer, once again, art courses for Advanced Placement and college credit, as well as electives in theater and music. PAIHS has a continuing commitment to expanding its art offerings, as we believe students benefit from a breadth of exposure to the arts and must by prepared for arts-related studies and careers after graduation. We hope to secure funding to maintain, and further grow, our program so that we may reach even more of our student population. Our goals include growing our permanent arts staff, developing our dedicated art spaces, funding partnerships and artist residencies, and continuing to provide students with quality materials and technology to support their creativity.
Q43 1

The Corona Arts and Sciences Academy continues to provide high quality, in depth arts education that is rich in content, practice and accessibility to all students. We continue to add new arts teachers and programs. This year, even in the midst of a global pandemic, we were not only able to keep our programs intact, but added media arts to the pantheon of programs that we offer at our school. Live and blended students received arts instruction and participated in virtual performances and exhibitions throughout the school year. As a result, we are well positioned for a full recovery of our arts programs next year. We look forward to a bright and vibrant arts filled 2021-22 school year.
Q43 1
The Corona Arts and Sciences Academy is a 6-8th Grade Zoned school in the neighborhood of Corona, NY. Our students contain high percentages of ENL students and especially students who have recently immigrated to the United States. We pride ourselves in offering a high quality academic instruction to all students. This includes a high quality arts education. The neighborhood of Corona was hit especially hard by COVID-19. Even still, our art programs we able to remain intact all through out this year allowing our students to paint, sing, play instruments, make films and dance both remotely and in person. We also allow our students to choose their arts elective. this gives each child the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of their selected art with a three year sequence. We also offer private coaching to students preparing for high school arts programs as well as summer programs bridge gaps in learning from year to year.

The goal of the visual arts program at Helen M. Marshall School is to create experiences in which students create and assess their own work, analyze masterworks and conduct peer critiques. They learn the elements of art and principles of design, college and career options and acquire the necessary vocabulary to discuss art. Students explore a wide range of materials and techniques. The goal of the music program is that students will develop the necessary skills to create, discuss and analyze music. They study the basic structure of music and become familiar with different styles and their historical context.
Q43 1
This year was unique in that most of the art and music classes were remote.

The Children's Lab School looks forward to restarting our arts programs in full beginning in the fall of 2021. This includes a full-time certified music teacher who teaches general music classes and leads our string orchestra for fourth and fifth grade students. Education Through Music continues to support the program with professional development and a part-time music teacher. We will continue our tradition of two choral concerts per year when we return to in-person learning. Our visual arts program is led by a full-time certified art teacher; students will display their art in a school-based visual arts show. Our full-time certified theater teacher will teach classes for all grades. Students will perform during our end-of-year celebration of learning. Students in all grades will also attend dance, music and theater performances in school and in venues around the city as soon as it is safe to do so.

At Newtown High School our students prepare portfolios for college and career readiness in the arts. Students are familiar with the NYS Standards and NYC Blueprints for the Arts. Scholars are exposed to various art forms, tools and techniques to produce artworks and perform, and they develop observational skills and how to develop and discuss an opinion when comparing and contrasting their artwork and the work of others. Students are introduced to professions in the arts and are encouraged to develop their goals towards artistic careers. This year we offered Advanced Placement Art in 2D. This year with remote learning, we were still able to have students work accepted and exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum PS Art and the Queens Borough Festival for Music and Visual Arts.
Q43 1
This year we had remote and blended learning due to the pandemic. We had 2 blended visual arts teachers also teaching remote and 1 visual arts and 1 music teacher teaching all remote. It was definitely a year like no other. Many of the activities we have done in the past were not an option this year. Out students were still able to have their work chosen for the Queens Borough exhibit in both music and visual art and as semi finalist and finalists in the PS Art exhibit at the Metropolitan museum. We are so proud of the work all our arts students have participated in this year and feel it was a benefit to them.

Public School 242 actively engages students in creating art in all media and exploring the expressive arts in musical theater, dance, and visual arts. We make school-based connections by teaching students about artists and their lives, discussing art as lifelong learners, and integrating the arts into all curricula. Our strong and ongoing partnership with our musical theater teaching artist provides students and staff with the opportunity to develop as musical theater artists and performers. Our partnership with Together in Dance provides rich opportunities for students and staff to work with teaching artists in Creative Dance and Movement. Students partake in the dance-making process and express themselves through the arts. Our collaboration with Cultural After School Adventures (CASA) provides enrichment through a grant-funded after school arts program. In these ways, we support students, families, and staff members in appreciating the arts and living artistic lives.

The Grover Cleveland High School community enthusiastically anticipates a return to in-person arts instruction and hands-on engagement. We will continue to offer an engaging and rigorous course of study in the arts. Foundation courses in studio art, chorus, band, guitar, keyboards and theater are open to all students. The option to further studies in the arts may be pursued as students choose a specific pathway, allowing more flexibility and student choice. Through the visual arts, drama and music pathway, students can choose advanced electives in the arts, including Advanced Placement Music Appreciation and College Now Art History through our partnership with LaGuardia Community College. Educators at Grover Cleveland High School seek to engage students in art-making, performance, portfolio building, and technology. We strive to use the many arts resources in New York City and encourage our students to take advantage of free classes, internships, and unique opportunities in the arts. Designing and implementing arts curricula aligned with the Common Core Standards and focused on college and career readiness is a primary goal at Grover Cleveland High School.

At Middle College Early College program at LaGuardia Community College, students are able to take high school arts courses but also college courses offered at LaGuardia Community College. The arts courses will count towards students meeting the requirements of earning a high school diploma, as well as an associates degree in five years. All arts courses taught through LaGuardia Community College are dual credited. Middle College High School offers students theater experience by collaborating with Liberty Partnership. Liberty Partnership provides workshops to students in writing, theater production, poetry, spoken word and visual arts. The courses and workshops are offered during school hours in addition to after school. Students use the arts as a way to express themselves, reduce stress and focus on their mental health and well-being. Middle College High School’s arts program services all students, including students who receive Hearing Educational Services. Courses at both Middle College and LaGuardia are full inclusive to our deaf or hearing-impaired students. Sign Language interpreters are assigned to each deaf student. Our arts program provides opportunity for the entire community to learn various forms of communication through the arts for all learning and communication modalities.
