NYC Parks Events Listing – Event Listing

The NYC Parks Events Listing database is used to store event information displayed on the Parks website, nyc.gov/parks. There are seven related tables that make up the this database:

1. Events_Events table (This is the primary table that contains basic data about every event. Each record is an event.)
2. Events_Categories (Each record is a category describing an event. One event can be in more than one category.)
3. Events_Images (Each record is an image related to an event. One event can have more than one image.)
4. Events_Links (Each record is a link with more information about an event. One event can have more than one link.)
5. Events_Locations (Each record is a location where an event takes place. One event can have more than one location.)
6. Events_Organizers (Each record contains a group or person organizing an event. One event can have more than one organizer.)
7. Events_YouTube (Each record is a link to a YouTube video about an event. One event can have more than one YouTube video.)

The Events_Events table is the primary table. All other tables can be related by joining on the event_id. This data contains records from 2013 and on. For a complete list of related datasets, please follow This Link

<p>NYC Audubon experts lead the way as we marvel at quirky but logical bird behavior and delicate feathers in exquisite patterns.&nbsp;</p><p>Influential birders such as Roger Tory Peterson and Allan D. Cruickshank learned their craft on Van Cortlandt Park&rsquo;s ecologically diverse grounds, and these walks celebrate the tradition set by them. Participants will look for resident and migrant species and discuss a wide range of avian topics.&nbsp;No registration necessary. No limit. Free.&nbsp;When birding on your own, check the Nature Sightings log in front of the Nature Center before you head out. <p>Starting last year on Alice Austen&rsquo;s birthday, the Alice Austen House began a project documenting the grounds and waterfront from Austen&rsquo;s home, Clear Comfort. Each day since then the house, grounds, and activities of the site have been documented, much like Alice Austen did over a hundred years ago.&nbsp;The museum will present an installation of nearly 200 snapshots capturing the daily life of this historic site and invite&nbsp;visitors&nbsp;to participate in the project.&nbsp;</p><p>Alice Austen Everyday is on view September 26 &ndash; December 30, 2015 and shown in conjunction with the museum&rsquo;s 30th Anniversary exhibition &ldquo;Becoming Clear Comfort: History of a Landmark,&quot; tracing&nbsp;the history of the house. &nbsp;Recently tagged images will also be on view, presented on an iPad in the gallery. <p>Open Run is a community-based, volunteer-led running&nbsp;initiative bringing free weekly runs and walks to local neighborhood parks, across all five boroughs of NYC.&nbsp;All runs are directed by volunteers and are free to all participants. The finish line is open until the last person is done. The courses vary based on the park, but the courses&nbsp;are between 2.5 and&nbsp;3 miles long.</p><p>Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the run and to leave their valuables at home &ndash; bag check is not provided. No need to do anything before the run, just show up. Open to all ages, experience levels, walkers, strollers, dogs: All are welcome!</p><p>This program is in coordination with&nbsp;NYC Parks&#39;&nbsp;Community Parks Initiative.</p>

The CityParks PuppetMobile production sets the timeless tale in the lush landscape of Brazil, where, thanks to the help of her fairy godmother, Cinderella attends Rio de Janeiro&rsquo;s biggest Carnival gala and dances the samba with Prince Paulo himself. After Cinderella is forced to flee the gala just before&nbsp;midnight, the prince sets out to find the mystery woman who stole his heart, in hopes of marrying her.</p>

Poignant scenes of death and grief recreated in the house will explore mid-19th century mourning customs. Pay your last respects at his deathbed upstairs, or join the mourning in the double parlor, hung with black crepe and set for a mid-19th century funeral. And stage your own &ldquo;postmortem&rdquo; photograph in our 19th century coffin. <p>David Antonio Cruz, a noted multi-disciplinary visual artist, brings a perfect performance to include in your Halloween festivities. Cruz fuses video, costume construction, performance and painting to explore and redefine queerness, diasporic,&nbsp;psychological and ever shifting unnamed spaces.</p><p>The Lorca Project, &ldquo;Green, how I want you green&rdquo;, is a live performance with multi-video projections and sculpture installations based on the Sonnets of Dark Love, the last poems of the poet Garcia Lorca which serve as the inspiration for the sounds composed and performed by Daniel De Jesus.
