Report Abstract
This report analyzes soil borings from Staten Island, along several parts of a natural gas pipeline construction project. For three portions of the pipeline, soil borings indicated the presence of intact prehistoric and historic remains, and further testing is recommended. For a fourth, archaeological resources may exist, but further soil borings are recommended closer to the actual project site, once the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey grants permission.

Report Abstract
Archaeological excavation at the Old Place Neck Site in Staten Island revealed temporary Indigenous Peoples camps. These were likely seasonal sites that took advantage of natural resources from the marsh and included areas of lithic processing as well as hunting camps. Public outreach programs will be implemented and the materials will be housed by the Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences.
