Archaeological monitoring in downtown Brooklyn, including Old Fulton Street, the location of the main ferry crossing to Manhattan in the 17th-19th centuries. Six areas with historical remains were identified, mainly 18th-19th century structural remains, some of which were disturbed. Artifacts found included faunal remains, ceramics, tobacco pipes, glass, and cast iron utilities. Determined that the site did not meet eligibility criteria for the National Register of Historic Places. Archaeological monitoring is recommended for areas where construction will affect 7 feet or more below the ground surface.

Report Abstract
Archaeological testing was completed because the site had the potential to contain 19th century archaeological resources. One feature and two small artifact concentrations dating to the mid-19th century were uncovered and no further work was recommended.
