1. Having a limited amount of energy due to my sickness, it is essential to be able to call my counsellor rather than taking an exhausting commute. Often I missed my appointments or was late because I did not feel well enough. Being able to call was a better option for me. Thank you for this arrangement.

2. Issues that we discuss are very personal and traumatic, it is much easier to open up for me via phone than in person.

3. My counsellor is very knowledgeable about how to handle trauma. In addition she understands and recognizes financial and psychological control/abuse and knows how to help me to deal with it. Many people don’t recognize theses types of violence.

What is always helpful for me is: I can trust the FJC therapist and all staff. I feel secure and my daughter as well. My daughter also receives tutoring from an amazing woman. The FJC has provided me with a great and unprecedented help and assistance as I was experiencing domestic violence incidents that had lasted over two years. After the counseling services from the DA office referred my case to the FJC, I had the chance to get immediate help and assistance in every steps and process for me to resolve the troubles I was facing; indeed, the attorney (name omitted) gave me all the indication on how to properly file a petition at the family court, get a temporary order of protection, and overall present my petition in a way that would help my situation be heard and well received by the family court.

The counseling services I was provided by Lisa Lerner have been of a great and unique help, and I have now the chance to heal from the psychological traumas I encountered over the course or the past two years. I was given more than I had ever expected.

I wasn’t aware of the FJC existence and work in prior, and I am grateful for the way it has shifted me out of prior troubles I had encounter.
