DOT is proposing the corrective rehabilitation of Tarlton Avenue Bridge over Cedar Grove Avenue which will extend the useful life of bridge. The existing bridge geometry consists of one travel lanes, no parking lane and no sidewalk in each direction. The corrective rehabilitation will involve locally repairing tilted Jersey barrier at right side span 1 and repaving uneven/cracked crack wearing surface on span 1. The Tarlton Avenue Bridge is located in the Oakwood section of Staten Island Community Board 3. The Build year is 2020. The removal, storage, treatment and disposal of paint removal waste shall comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and codes. Additionally, these activities shall comply with the October 1998 Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for Lead Paint Removal Operations on NYC Department of Transportation Bridges (CEQR No.: 96-DOT005Y). The bid documents will fully comply with the FEIS and include a comprehensive set of drawings to minimize and/or eliminate potential impacts to the environment and human health from hazardous materials to be removed from these structures. Such controls include construction and maintenance of containment systems, air monitoring, waste management and daily inspections, daily cleaning, waste manifest tracking and OSHA compliance inspections.
