NYCDOT is propsing the reconstruction of streets within the Bergen Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn Community District 18. The original CPI was signed in 2005. Reconstruction is recommended as a long term solution to extend the lifespan of the roadway, as well as to improve pedestrian and vehicular traffic circulations within the projected area. Storm and sanitary sewer systems and water mains will be evaluated and reconstructed. All street lighting, traffic control devices, and other utilities will also be evaluated and replaced as required. Construction on this project began in February 2019 and is estimated to be completed in 2023. The intent of the recent revision is to remove segments initally idenified street reconstruction.

The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is proposing the reconstruction of portions of Fort Washington Park and Inwood Hill Park west of the Amtrak lines. The Project Site is located along the east bank of the Hudson River generally west of the Henry Hudson Parkway and the Amtrak railroad including Fort Washington Park from West 155th Street to West 181st Street, West 187th Street to Dyckman Street, and within Inwood Hill Park west of the Amtrak lines and east of the ball fields. As described in further detail in the EAS these improvements would encompass the reconstruction of select areas within Fort Washington Park and Inwood Hill Park. The proposed project includes the reconstruction of one pedestrian bridge, two softball fields, one soccer field, five volleyball courts, six handball courts, one playground, picnic areas, pedestrian and bicycle pathways, and the addition of new park amenities including the construction of a comfort station and the construction of an ADA compliant pedestrian ramp for improved greenway connections between Fort Washington and Inwood Hill Parks.
