Faztec Industries Fill Material Transfer Station Permit Modification

Faztec Industries, Inc. FMTS (Faztec) is an existing transfer station currently permitted by DSNY to process up to 1,300 cubic yards per day of clean fill material (limited to concrete, asphalt pavement, earth, dirt, gravel, stone, sand, rock from various construction projects) with on site storage capacity of up to 42,000 cubic yards. The proposed project involves a DSNY permit modification for Faztec to expand its existing non-putrescible solid waste transfer station for clean fill material to an adjacent Lot 160 (12,000 square feet) and to increase its storage capacity from 42,000 cubic yards to 90,000 cubic yards. The facility is currently registered with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to process up to 5,000 cubic yards per day. Daily throughput would increase from approximately 3,330 tons to up to 5,000 cubic yards, and hours of equipment operation would increase. No construction is proposed. A new tire washing station would be installed and certain dust control measures would be implemented. One curb cut would be added. Collectively, these modifications constitute the proposed action.
