DOT is proposing safety improvements along the Richmond Avenue corridor between Forest Avenue and Victory Boulevard in the Graniteville and Bulls Head sections of Staten Island Community Board 2. This 1.5-mile High Crash Corridor ranks among the top 10% for Staten Island corridors. The improvements include replacing existing median with a standard 10-foot wide flush and raised center median with left-turn bays, green pedestrian safety islands and planted medians at key locations install parking lane stripe and more specific improvements at Deppe Place, Lamberts Lane, Morani Street and Victory Boulevard. The improvements calm traffic, provide for simpler left-turns, safer pedestrian crossings, fewer turning conflicts, improved access and circulation for cyclists, and enhanced safety for all street users. The project has the support of Community Board 2 and the Build year is 2014.
