NYCDOT is proposing to retrofit/upgrade the Hamilton Avenue Asphalt Plant (the Plant), located in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn Community Board 6. Greeley Avenue Traffic Safety Improvements

DOT is proposing a series of traffic safety improvements to calm traffic on Greeley Avenue in the Midland Beach Section of Staten Island, Community District 2. Traffic circles will be installed at Colony Avenue, at Freeborn Street, at Moreland Street and at Oldfield Street to improve neighborhood circulation, discourage speeding and enhance pedestrian safety. Additionally, a gateway treatment will be installed at the intersection of Greeley Avenue and Father Capodanno Boulevard to calm traffic entering the neighborhood. Between 2010 and 2014, Greeley Avenue experienced 23 crashes, including two pedestrian-related crashes. While Greeley Avenue is not a Vision Zero Corridor, the adjoining Hylan Boulevard is one. Additional improvements include:  New pavement markings forming an 11-foot wide travel in each direction and 14-foot wide parking lanes along Greeley Avenue;  A neck-down in the northwest corner of Greeley Avenue at Father Capodanno Boulevard to slow right-turning vehicles onto Greeley Avenue; and  Pedestrian ramps at the intersections mentioned above. The community board has approved the proposed proposal. The Build year is 2017.
