The proposed project will occur in an area that was formerly used by the Kiddy City amusement park from 1954-1963 and is now comprised of anthropogenic fill and sections of asphalt and concrete pavement that are restricting the growth of salt marsh habitat. The goals of the proposed project are to restore tidal wetland habitat and remove an elevated berm to restore tidal hydrology to the site, improving the connection to the adjacent, isolated marsh that was restored by DEP in 2019. Proposed work will include tidal wetland restoration and berm removal on parkland. Work will include targeted fill removal, removal of the elevated berm to restore tidal hydrology, and aboveground invasive vegetation management.

Project Description
First Avenue and Park Avenue Tunnels were constructed prior to the introduction of present-day editions of fire-life safety (FLS) standards (National Fire Protection Association 502 2020 edition and National Fire Protection Association 130 2020 edition). While the codes/standards do not specifically require that older structures meet the new standards, it is critical to continue to evaluate and update existing structures with targeted component retrofits to ensure that in the event of an emergency, fire life safety components are in place to protect the general public.

Project Description
The Fortune Society, Inc. (Fortune), a nonprofit housing and supportive services provider, is in the midst of converting the former Royal Park hotel at 258 West 97th Street. This building, which was operated illegally for many years as a hotel is being converted into an exciting new model of permanent supportive housing for justice- involved homeless individuals and low-income New York City residents. The building is located in a NYC Landmarks historic district in the Manhattans Upper West Side neighborhood. The building will undergo a substantial renovation and provide 59 SRO units of supportive housing for single adults exiting the New York City Shelter System. These are adults who have histories of incarceration and who are in need of supportive services. An additional 24 units are reserved for low-income community members earning 60% of the area median income or less, which includes 15 units of existing tenancy. There will also be a superintendents unit and ample service and community space. A full social services program will be available for the supportive tenants and the community residents as well. Specific amenities available to all residents include a welcoming entry and lobby, on-site laundry room, outdoor refection space in the rear yard, a community dinning room and kitchen on the lower level, and extensive services spaces all in a beautiful and gracious older elevator building. Castle IV is a much-needed, rare opportunity to serve formerly homeless justice-involved adults and low-income community members in a welcoming, vibrant and economically diverse Manhattan neighborhood that is both transit and amenity rich.

Old Howard Beach Shoreline Restoration
Project Description
The Old Howard Beach Shoreline Restoration project will restore shoreline habitat in an area that was affected by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The Old Howard Beach neighborhood was created through the filling of wetlands in the late 1800s and was the site of the Long Island Railroad Ramblersville station until 1919. The neighborhood was primarily beach bungalows until the early 1950s, when it was developed for year-round residence through the building of single family homes and apartments. In 2012, Hurricane Sandy flooded the area and the city subsequently purchased homes along the shoreline through the Build It Back program. This project will remove debris, fill, and invasive vegetation from shoreline areas to restore tidal wetlands.
