Manhattan College Bridge over Henry Hudson Parkway

The reconstruction of the Manhattan College Parkway Bridge over the Henry Hudson Parkway between The north-and-southbound service roads in the Fieldston section of the Bonx Community Board was completed in 2006. The bridge carries oone westbound travel lane, a sidewalk on its southerly side and on-street parking on both sides. The reconstruction involves the bridge's paved surface and reapiring the abutments. The grade of the new bridge is nearly the same as the grade of the old bridge, but its vertical curve is more uniform to provide a smooth transition to the existing grades located at the project limits. The maximum grade change occurred along the southerly curb where the elevation is about 1/2 foot higher than the old elevation. The highest elevation poit along the centerline of the new bridge would remain nealy the same as the old bridge.

Nostrand Avenue Select Bus Service

The proposed action is a joint effort on the part of NYCDOT and MTA/NYCT to improve bus speeds on Nostrand Avenue by reducing traffic congestion and improving bus boarding time. This project is part of an overall initiative to improve the speed and reliability of bus service on key corridors throughout the City. The Nostrand Avenue Select Bus Service (SBS) will be a 9.3 mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route replacing the existing NYCT B44-Limited bus route, which serves over 40,000 customers on an average weekday and is the fourth busiest corridor in New York City. The SBS will be along Nostrand and Rogers/Bedford Avenues between Sheepshead Bay in southern Brooklyn and the Williamsburg Bridge/Washington Plaza bus terminal in Williamsburg.
