Project Description
The Applicant, RiseBoro Community Partnership Inc., is requesting the disposition of City-owned property from the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to facilitate the development of five new affordable home ownership buildings (24 units) on five separate development sites in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, Community District 4 (the 'Proposed Action'). The Applicant is also requesting construction financing from HPDs Open Doors (homeownership) program as well as a subsidy through New York State Homes and Community Renewals (HCR) Affordable Housing Corporation with HPD as co-applicant. The five Project Sites are located at 1277 Dekalb Avenue (Block 3232, Lot 63), 676 Central Avenue (Block 3440, Lot 35), 641 Chauncey Avenue (Block 3444, Lot 18), 1143 Hancock Street (Block 3389, Lot 45), and 1262-1264 Bushwick Avenue (Block 3401, Lot 37 and 38) and are scattered throughout Brooklyn Community District 4 generally south of Mrytle Avenue, north of Bushwick Avenue and west of the Evergreens Cemetery. Each of the five Project Sites are currently vacant and owned by HPD. Under the Proposed Action, the Project Sites would be redeveloped with five new four-story homeownership buildings ranging in size from 3,264 gross square feet (gsf) to 9,044 gsf for a total of 28,457 gsf of new development. A total of 24 affordable homeownership units will be constructed across the five Project Sites.
