No parking is permitted along either curb. The bridge is a one-span steel stringer multi box beam system with a 7,664 square foot deck area which carries utilities.

As part of the effort of the Billion Oyster Project to restore oyster reefs in the waters of New York City, the proposed Soundview Oyster Habitat Restoration Project would expand and restore oysters and oyster habitat at the mouth of the Bronx River, adjacent to Soundview Park in the Bronx, New York. The primary objective of the project is to expand the habitat for oysters by installing in areas of the reef loose oyster and clam shells, as well as live oysters. Restoring the reef habitat increases the potential for natural water filtration and helps rebuild ecosystems that sustain a variety of other plants and animals. The primary purpose of the Soundview Oyster Habitat Restoration project is to build upon earlier efforts to restore oyster activity that has occurred at Soundview Park. As part of the project the public and local community members will be engaged in oyster habitat restoration, awareness of and connection to local ecological systems, and coastal resiliency.
