Improvements to the Intersection of Bradley Avenue and Willowbrook Road
Project Description
The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) as lead agency on behalf of the New York City Department of Design + Construction (DDC) is proposing the Bradley Avenue and Willowbrook Road Intersection Improvement Project. The proposed capital project would extend approximately 674 linear feet along Bradley Avenue (from about 600 north of the intersection of with Willowbrook Road) and approximately 40 linear feet along Holden Road (east of the intersection with Bradley Avenue) and 130 feet along Willowbrook Road (west of the intersection with Bradley Avenue). The proposed project would reduce traffic congestion and enhance pedestrian and vehicular safety and circulation for all street users at this intersection including private motorists, transit users, pedestrians, and cyclists. The proposed improvements include a widened and realigned intersection with additional turning lanes and improved sidewalk and pedestrian conditions. Most of the proposed widening would be along the west side of Bradley Avenue north of the intersection with Willowbrook Road, although portions of Willowbrook Road and Holden Avenue would also need to be widened near the intersection. This widening would also serve to correct the realignment that is necessary. To implement the proposed improvements requires acquiring portions of 16 lots (portions of the front and side yards) with a total of 16,120 square feet of private land within the mapped right-of-way of Bradley Avenue. In addition, the proposed project would require a tree replacement plan for the clearing of about 6 street trees that are under the jurisdiction of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR).

Ridgewood Reservoir Critical Environmental Area Designation
Project Description
The Ridgewood Reservoir is a former water supply reservoir located within Highland Park, straddling the Brooklyn-Queens border. The reservoir was constructed in 1858 and served as part of the water supply system for Brooklyn until 1959. The reservoir is divided into three basins separated by embankments and has been substantially drained for many years. In the years since being taken off-line as a water supply source, the reservoir has transitioned into a naturalized area that is unique within New York City and serves as an important ecological, historic, and public recreation resource. In recognition of its exceptional character, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation proposes to designate the reservoir as a Critical Environmental Area (CEA).
