Project Description
DOT is proposing a roadway resurfacing at 11 sites (one in Queens, two in the Bronx, two in Manhattan, three in Brooklyn and three in Staten Island) as part of the National Highway System Contract Paving Program. The program improvements include a total of 47.32 lane miles of resurfacing (i.e. milling and repaving), pavement improvements (i.e. pavement markings), and general repairs (i.e. regrade street hardware, cushion or repair problematic roadway base, etc.) to extend the service life of existing facilities. The improvements project is routine maintenance work that repairs worn, cracked and broken roadway surfaces to provide for a smoother and safer wearing surface for vehicular traffic. The locations (attached) are listed below and the program is scheduled to be completed in 2016. Queens 1. The limits of the estimated 6.4 lane miles resurfacing program, is on North Conduit Avenue from Cross Bay Boulevard to the Kings County Line (Ruby Street) in Community Board 10. The Bronx 1. The limits of the estimated 3.57 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Bruckner Boulevard Service Road from White Plains Road to Bronx River Avenue in Community Board 9. 2. The limits of the estimated 5.53 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Canal Street from West to Allen Streets in Community Boards 1, 2, and 3. 2. The limits of the estimated 6.99 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Broadway from West 155th to West 179th Streets in Community Board 12. Brooklyn 1. The limits of the estimated 4.63 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Kings Highway from Farragut Road to Remsen Avenue in Community Board 17. 2. The limits of the estimated 2.68 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Bay Parkway from 61st to 72nd Streets in Community Board 11. 3. The limits of the estimated 3.80 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Bay Parkway from Avenue J to 61st Street in Community Board 12. Staten Island 1. The limits of the estimated 4.25 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Victory Boulevard from Travis to Richmond Avenues in Community Board 2. 2. The limits of the estimated 3.28 lane miles resurfacing program, is on Victory Boulevard from Richmond Avenue to Willowbrook Road in Community Boards 1and 2. 3. The limits of the estimated 2.61lane miles resurfacing program, is on Bay Street from School Road to Hylan Boulevard in Community Board 1.
