I work for National Grid on the team that makes the workplan each year. I am inquiring to see if you have a plotted version of the "Street Resurfacing Schedule" as a shapefile or some other mapping file. This would help my team choose projects that are not on your schedule or accelerate replacements to do be done before pavings occur. Please let me know if there are any resources like that. I see that there is already a shapefile for historical pavings and would like to know if that is possible for the scheduled ones as well.

Thank you for your request on Street Resurfacing Schedule in shapefile. The dataset is from an application system which allows automatic daily updates on Open Data but it does not offer the data in shapefile format. 
You may use the OFTCode field (On-From-To Street Codes- 6 digits each) to identify unique street IDs to use the 'join' function with NYC Department of City Planning LION geospatial file to map the data. 
For example: 
Borough: Manhattan
On Street Name: 1 Avenue
From Street Name: East 53 Street
To Street Name: East 54 Street
OFTCode: 110010 (On Street) 118050 (From Street) 118070 (To Street)
Extract only the On Street Code (first six digits) in a CSV and upload to ArcMap to join with LION file.

Reply to question 1: "TYPE OF VIOLATION” - that data point label indicates the court handling the violation (OATH) and is consistent with the one in our internal system. The field is defined in the data dictionary.


Reply to question 2: There are multiple factors that would allow for different “FINE AMOUNT” values.

- A company may choose to pay the violation in full when they receive it.
- A company may accept an early settlement offer to settle the violation without going through OATH.
- A company may provide mitigating factors to the Commission which may result in a different fine amount. For example, the penalty schedule allows for mitigating factors of certain violations to be considered.

Reply to question 3: An early settlement offer may lower the “FINE AMONT” a company is obligated to pay.

A pier may have several ferry routes in multiple tabs. For example: Pier 11 have multiple routes in NYWW (Port Imperial FC), NYC Ferry and SeaStreak tabs, with the total number of ferry riders (passengers boarded the ferry) listed on the Monthly Totals tab.

After looking through the NYC Open Data and then also looking at OATH Ticket Search site, I'm finding errors in Respondent Names or Status.

For example, ticket number (aka Summons/Notice Number) = 000829020J

This ticket on the NYC open data portal doesn't have a Respondent First or Last Name. But on the Ticket search site, the Respondent Name is = JONES LANG LASALLE INCORPORATE.

Another example is Ticket Number = 000701814Z

NYC Open Data portal shows Hearing Status = DEFAULTED but when you search for this on the OATH ticket search site, the Status = PAID IN FULL
Also, the NYC Open Data portal shows Balance = $1,300
But the Ticket Search site shows Balance = 0.00

Why would the NYC Open Data portal differ from the ticket search site and which one is more accurate or more up to date?

Hello,

My name is *****. I am a member of the ***** at the *****. We use the 311 data for several reports on our team, and we are trying to keep an up-to-date version of the repository on our cloud service for this purpose. So, we have some questions about how data is updated:

Very old rows seem to get added sometimes. We compared two snapshots of the entire table, one from April 5th and one from April 9th, in between which there were a few rows added all the way back in July of 2023. These rows had old unique_keys too. There was seemingly no way to tell them apart from the rows added back then. Is there a limit on how old a newly added row can be? And where do these come from?

Aside from downloading the entire 20GB dataset daily, which is something we don’t want to do, none of the ways we have found for fetching all new, updated, and deleted rows have been perfect. There are some methods that get most rows, but a few (like the one added from July, 2023) always slip through the cracks. We were wondering if there is a simple way to get all updated rows and nothing more, whether that be through some SoQL API request we haven’t thought of, or whether there is perhaps a more featured API for people within the city government?

We would greatly appreciate any help or advice on the matter.

Not always. If a coop hasn’t applied for an abatement, it wouldn’t have a coop #

Best to use building classes (Field name BLDG_CLASS) ‘C6’, ‘C8’, D0’, ‘D4’, ‘R9’ when coop_num is null.

The zone-map is showing the homes zoned as an M1-1. How do I go about having the zones reflect the current demographic? There is a industrial business (zoned as M1-1) a block away from the school (zoned as R5). The M1-1 zone allows them to operate heavy machinery in what is now a growing residential neighborhood.
