Given a specific address, is there a way to find which NTA that address is located in?

NTA map

Thank you for contacting the Department of City Planning (DCP). There are several ways to determine which NTA is associated to an address. If you are looking up individual addresses you can use NYC GOAT, DCP's Geographic Online Translator. You should specifically use Function 1B. Once you are there, enter your Borough, Address Number and Street Name then click submit. You can scroll down to the Census Geographic Information section of the results page to locate the NTA ID and Name, as well as many other census related info.

If you have to find the associated NTAs for a list of addresses, then you should use one of our batch options, either Geosupport Desktop Edition or the GeoService API. Both allow you to input a table of addresses or other geo-locations and return associated geographic info like NTAs. If you need assistance using either please consult the the User Bulletin.

It appears that the page for the 2020 Census NYC ZIP code shapefile was taken down at some point--is this going to be reuploaded?

The 2010 shapefile is still available (https://data.cityofnewyork.us/Health/Modified-Zip-Code-Tabulation-Areas-MODZCTA-/pri4-ifjk/data), but it would be ideal to have up-to-date boundaries that capture new ZIP codes (like 11249).

I know that people in my org and colleagues at other orgs use these resources a lot, so I appreciate the data!

Please increase the updates to the FY Parking Violations datasets from Monthly to weekly or daily.

This dataset is the only one that exposes location details and the delay inhibits working with stakeholders to improve accountability in parking enforcement. Slow updates means currently it may take over a month and a half (or longer in some cases) to follow up and confirm what actions were or not taken in response to parking enforcement at specific locations.

Hello! We frequently use the Parking/Speed camera dataset (pulled into our database via your API) in order to monitor our fleet to ensure safe parking and driving. It is challenging for us to action on tickets drivers are acquiring in our vehicles due to the lag that tickets are uploaded in the Open Data Portal. Wanted to get a better sense on how/why tickets mature and see if we could request a faster cadence of data being uploaded. We also have access to a portal from the DOF where we can pull tickets and those usually are available. much more quickly, so imagine that they exist somewhere in the system.
