Hello,

I'm comparing the school absenteeism data on the NYC Open Data portal and that on the NYC Department of Education website here: https://infohub.nyced.org/reports/school-quality/information-and-data-overview/end-of-year-attendance-and-chronic-absenteeism-data.

The latter includes the data broken down by different student characteristics (e.g., gender, disability, etc) but the records on the NYC Open Data don't seem to include this breakdown.

Can you please confirm if this is correct? As the datasets span different years, I wanted to merge them, but this will only be helpful if they include the same breakdown.

We identified a number of indicators that appear to be recorded cumulatively, but were not labeled as such (the 'Additive' field is not marked 'Yes'). I recently read a paper that used NYC databases, one for energy audits and one for permits. Here is the paper: Lai, Yuan, Sokratis Papadopoulos, Franz Fuerst, Gary Pivo, Jacob Sagi, and Constantine E. Kontokosta. "Building retrofit hurdle rates and risk aversion in energy efficiency investments." Applied Energy 306 (2022): 118048.
I am interested to apply this methodology to museums and cultural organizations in New York City. I've been exploring the dataset linked above, but I haven't found a great way to identify what is and is not a museum. I did find that DCLA has a dataset which also has bin# but I don't think they are the same across datasets. Is there a way to use the DCLA data to filter the permit data, and the audit data? If so, I may be able to develop a proposal for an NEH grant modeling successful climate change models for the cultural sector.

Hello! I am still waiting for someone to please respond to my request for an investigation for fraudulent use of my credit card to the NYC Department of Finance on 2/27/23. The payment went through on 2/28/23. I live in Houston and have NEVER been to New York City. The charge was for $1,436.06 DOF Parking and $28.72 for a DOF Parking Service Fee (2% for paying online). Can someone please reply back to me to tell me my next steps? I have already contacted my credit card company, and I plan to file a Police Report here in Houston. I've filtered the data by year for 2017-2021, looking at the number of records (buildings) returned and summing the number of units. Leaving aside the first pandemic year, 2017-19 are relatively stable:

2017 4,228 bldgs, 373,642 units
2018 4,571 bldgs, 385,420 units
2019 4,504 bldgs, 381,142 units

Compare 2021:

2021 5,007 bldgs, 440,823

We know that big bump does not reflect new buildings or new units, so how should I understand yearly variation in general, and how to interpret the big 2021 bump in particular?

DOF: Cooperative Comparable Rental Income (Citywide)

DOF trended the first pandemic year-FY21 (which is 2020 in the question) and did not run comp rent that year. COOP income and Expense were trended based on guideline trends and that year’s coop comp file was generated using the same logic. For FY21, the previous year’s comp files was used and the non-filers were removed. Last year, DOF valued post tentative roll and almost all coops were comp valued. As a result, the counts are much higher.

I'm trying to track executed eviction warrants as part of an editorial project, and the OpenData dataset hasn't been updated in nearly two weeks.

My colleague, *****, reached out to her contact (*****) at DOI, where their version of the dataset was similarly not up to date. They have updated their version and fixed whatever bug was holding that up (https://www.nyc.gov/site/doi/offices/cpr2.page), but OpenData's version is still behind.

For consistency's sake, I need to keep working with OpenData's version of this dataset, and DOI's website uses Microsoft Power BI, which does not allow me to download raw data. Can this be mended easily?

Hi,

We've been running API requests on this dataset for months, everything was fine, but on 2/6/23, the api call failed around 01:02:08 AM with "requests.exceptions.HTTPError: 429 Client Error: Too Many Requests".

The thing is, we only make several API requests per day right now. Can you please clarify why this happened, and what we can do to avoid this issue?
