I downloaded the crash excel csv files. When I collect collisions on intersections of roads X and Y. If I count collisions where X is ON STREET and Y is CROSS STREET, the number of collisions is different than if Y is ON STREET and X is CROSS STREET.

How can I collect collisions on NYC intersections. I have PhD in traffic safety and trying to develop a unique application which may help you.

The on street and cross street are necessarily intersections. An incident can occur ON a segment, and the closest cross street could be entered as the cross street. In other words, the two fields are not reversible. For the analysis you describe, it is suggested that you use the latitude and longitude provided and combine these data with street features using GIS.

I work with a researcher who is interested in using NYC bike route data. The current New York City Bike Routes shapefile on the OpenData site contains data for bike routes going back to 2017. I have been trying to find the complete benchmarking for annual energy use in private buildings for 2021 (2022 report) and this file: Energy and Water Data Disclosure for Local Law 84 2022 (Data for Calendar Year 2021), would seem to be the right one. HOWEVER, the totals reported don't seem complete when comparing with previous benchmarks for the same building in a previous report. Is this dataset a progress or partial report? This is the complete and final 2021 dataset. Total GHG emissions for the whole dataset (ie all buildings summed) are actually higher than they were in 2020. I can’t speak to any one individual building, however. This data is all reported to the City by individual building owners. Reductions in emission could come from improved energy efficiency, conversion to lower carbon energy sources, or incorrect data.

To answer your questions in order:

1. No. Only a subset of the daily samples are analyzed for Fluoride which include the entry points to the distribution system. The other sites/samples are Not Analyzed but are assumed to have similar levels to the values found at the entry points.
2. As stated in the Data Dictionary, copied below, not all data are used for Compliance. The other data are collected for Operational purposes but results are provided in OpenData. As required by the Total Coliform Rule, when a sample is positive for coliform at a Compliance site a set of Resamples must be collected from the location. For Operational sites it is only one resample.

Please note: Data are collected under the federal Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) for compliance. All samples are collected and analyzed by DEP staff from fixed sample stations throughout drinking water distribution system. Data are used to assess the effectiveness of drinking water treatment in accordance with the requirements of federal and state rules and regulations. But not all data presented are used to determine / calculate compliance with the regulations.

I am an artist submitting a proposal for Open Data Week. I want to make sure I understand the "2015 Street Tree Census - Tree Data" set. Does each line represent one tree count? Meaning 683,788 trees were counted? And is the 2015 tree count the most current data set for tree counts?

For example, if you wanted payroll data for Fiscal Year 2021, you would filter the dataset for where "Fiscal Year" is "2021." Then you would click export and choose the "CSV for Excel" option.

Does the 2019 High Volume FHV Trip Records data set include cancelled rides or only completed trips (meaning if a driver or rider cancelled the ride before the rider was picked up, would that be included in the data set)? Also, is the pickup time the time the driver accepted the ride request and was en route to pick up the passenger, or is it the time that the passenger actually got into the car (and therefore there would not be any way to determine the time the driver accepted the ride request)? Thank you.
