The certficate of occupancy filed and approved via DOB NOW cannot be found in the Certificate of Occupancy at Open Data Portal. It seems that the DOB BIS and DOB NOW are separately maintained. I see the contractor with the license ***** has all of his permits expiring on 10/17/21. However when I go into the DOB NOW I see that these permits are renewed with new permits under this license number. Is there a time delay for the Open Data to update? If so, how long does this take? Hello, my name is *****, I'm a researcher from the *****. I was hoping to understand a bit more about the street closures listed in this dataset.

I see that there is an 'Open Date' column, showing the date that the street intervention was implemented. Is there any record of 'Close Date', the date (or even just month) when the intervention was removed and cars were allowed on the street again?

I understand that this information may not be available. If this is the case, could you just help me understand the minimum duration of these closures? Did they all last at least one month? Two months?

I have tried several tools to look at the data, but none of them show more than the tax lots. E.g., the structures which are represented on the ZOLA page do not show up. That is correct - MapPLUTO is a spatial dataset that used NYC tax lots as its geography and does not include building or structure boundaries/polygons.

The building footprints in Zola are part of the base map which is provided by OpenSteetMap - an open source platform. However, there is another official NYC building footprints dataset maintained by DOITT which is available on the NYC open data portal. For more information on data sources in Zola check out the data source tab in Zola.

To answer your job number question, yes, the format in DOB NOW is different and jobs will continue in that format with a letter prefix indicating borough, and a number/letter suffix indicating type of filing.
In the data set you reference, zip code is already included in the data set in a column labeled "Zip". Job type is also already included in a column called "Job Type".

I can help you track down an answer regarding the column headers. The data was originally produced by the New York City Panel on Climate Change (NPCC), so I think it might help to start by pointing you to the chapter of their latest report where they describe the methods in detail:

However, I think the data you intend to use is from NPCC’s 2015 report (specifically Figure 3.4) because I don’t think the 500-yr floodplain was mapped in 2019. You can access the details for the 2015 report here:

Importantly, I think what you are seeing in the column headers denotes the polygons that show FEMA’s 500-yr floodplain from the Base Flood Elevation (BFEs) and the polygons that denote the BFE + sea level rise. If I’m correct, the important part is that, between 2015 and 2019, improvements were made to the underlying FEMA data after the City found errors in the FEMA maps. Consequently, it might be more useful to use the 2019 data.

Hello!

I am doing a project on NYC's street trees and was interested in using this data set. I found that there are many marked points that have no species, address, or any other identifying information. I just wanted to clarify if those marked points represent trees that have been marked but not identified yet, are potential planting sites, or otherwise. I noticed in the attribute table (while using the dataset shape file in GIS ArcMap) and on the open data page, that these unknown points are counted in the final number of plotted trees, which at the moment, is 689,227. I just wanted to check because I want my numbers to be correct for my project. I totally understand if they are simply unidentified trees at the moment, since there are well over half a million street trees in the city, that's a lot of plotting!

Hello! I had inquired about getting Park Events data in August after using this https://data.cityofnewyork.us/City-Government/NYC-Parks-Events-Listing-Event-Listing/fudw-fgrp which I had to download and host myself. I wanted direction to a hosted API but the Events Listing with the 7 related tables I was directed towards doesn't go past 2019. Do you have any API's for Park Events that are up to date and hosted? The Event Listing landing page says Data Last Updated August 2, 2021, and Metadata Last Updated September 2, 2021 but when I fetch and query for future dates or even download an CSV and page through it, 2019 is the latest date.

Any guidance appreciated! I'm doing this for a school project. Thanks!

The events database/query moved internally without the Open Data Team’s knowledge, which is why this data is outdated. We are currently working with the subject matter experts to update our query and provide up to date data as soon as we are able.

Hello! Sorry to bother you, I am working on a project where I would like to use the NYC Park Events related tables. Do I need an Authentication Token? I would love to be able to grab the data with Ruby using the SODA query format so I can limit my results and only get upcoming events. I found the developer documentation on get hub but the link was broken.
https://github.com/socrata/soda-ruby Is this deprecated? What is the best way to access the data with CUSTOM querys? Is it the discovery API? Or am I stuck with just using regular HTTP JSON requests? Thanks for your help again, sorry If I am unclear.
