I have recently been downloading the NYC Recovery and Resiliency Projects Maps (as KMLs) and then importing them into the Excel 3D Map. I have been successful in importing the "Polygons" file but not the "Points" or "Lines" files. I get an error message that all the data points as "invalid geometry." Can you help me?

I cannot get http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap/ to work. I get the first screen but then ZOOM freezes.
I have a high end Windows 10 desktop and a high end Windows 10 laptop, both up to date.
I can only get the map to work in an old Internet Explorer but not in Edge or Chrome. Also I see it works on a MacBook (don’t know which browser).

Here’s my response:
(1) I cleared Browsing history, cookies, cached images and files.
(2) I still have the same problem.
(I would like to send you screen shots DOITMap01.jpg and DOITMap02.jpg to show you what I am getting but this system doesn't let me send images.)
(3) I have Chrome Version 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit). I don’t think this is the glitch; I’ve had the problem for at least 12 months.
(4) I have the same problem on Microsoft Edge 44.18362.449.0.
(5) I have the same problem on two computers, 1 desktop 1 laptop (more or less same specs).
(6) I do NOT have the problem on Internet Explorer Version11.535.18362.0. (Go figure.)

We have routed your inquiry to the support team for NY Citymap who confirmed the limitation your are experiencing. Unfortunately, it is advised that the browser zoom setting must always remain at 100%.
Currently there are ongoing efforts to get the resources to replace Citymap with a modern data platform and front end. Until then this is a limitation.

Thank you for your inquiry on Bicycle Counter id 100031871.
Bicycle Counter dataset the fields:
1) id- associates with a site location (geographically), not the counter itself.
2) counter- associates with the counter itself.

One counter may relocate to various locations over the years, each relocation generates an unique id. The counts are through a vendor, according to their records, counter id 100031871 was located temporarily on the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge Shared Path in 2016 as a temporary placeholder and did not collect any data. The data has since updated and id 100031871 was removed because it did not contain any data, it was released to the Open Data portal in error.The permanent counting site for Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge is id 100009428 installed 12/4/2013. The Bicycle Counters and Bicycle Counts data sets are currently up to date.

As for userType of 12 is Shared Pathways, this will be updated in the data dictionary.

There has been a big and continuous increase in the number of Class C open HPD violations that began sometime in the second half 2018. Because of seasonal fluctuations it is hard to pin down what month it was, but perhaps it started in August 2018.

I understand that the most HPD violation issuances ultimately originate from 311 complaints, and that the city switched to a new 311 system over the past few years. There is very little public information about the new system or switchover process.

I would like to know whether the switchover explains the apparent increase in Class C violations. Can you please tell me on what date 311 began the cutover process from the old system to the IBM Watson system? Did the rollout process occur as one single cutover, or was it gradual? And on what date was (or will be) the switchover completed? Any information you could provide about the rollout process of impact the new 311 system on the data would be much appreciated!

You'll need to contact the folks at 311 about changes to their system, as that process is not controlled by HPD. HPD, however, did change how it classifies a number of its violations in 2019. See below:

Order number 530 (self-closing doors) became classified as Class C c June 2019

Order numbers 568 and 569 (Pests) became classified as Class C in January 2019.

I'm curious about the definition of a shared trip. Does each passenger taking a shared vehicle count as a trip (so two people in a vehicle = 2 trips) or is it just hoe many vehicles have completed a shared trip (so 1 trip could theoretically = 2, 3, or 4 passengers). Thank you!

With regard to shared trip counts, the number in the column reflects the number of individual trips were part of a shared trip chain, i.e. with a service like Uber Pool or Via. I cannot get http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap/ to work. I get the first screen but then ZOOM freezes.
I have a high end Windows 10 desktop and a high end Windows 10 laptop, both up to date.
I can only get the map to work in an old Internet Explorer but not in Edge or Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Also I see it works on a MacBook (don’t know which browser).

Thank you for reaching out through Open Data about the active vehicles list. I have checked this morning, and see that your vehicle was switched to active on 12/31. The active lists on Open Data are updated once a day, so depending when the vehicle's status changed, it can take up to 24 hours for a vehicle to to appear as active on Open Data. The information you identified as erroneously listed is in the Department of City Planning's (DCP) MapPLUTO dataset, which uses Department of Finance (DOF) data as its source. To request updates to the DOF data you can go to this Update Property and Billing link and submit this form.

Once the data is updated in the DOF data it will be reflected in the monthly update of MapPLUTO data and display correctly in the ZoLa application.
