Inquiry
Hello. I would like to see the report stating that a building, 213-02 42nd Avenue, Bayside, NY (Queens), is in need of repair per Local Law 11. I am having a difficult time getting through to the management agency. Is there a database online or a report that I can read? Thank you!
Assigned Agencys Response
Hi,
The address is required by Local Law 11 to have an inspection report filed every five years with the Department of Buildings. You can see the historical reports in BIS here.
As of December 2016, these reports are now required to be filed in our new DOB NOW system. You can see the newer reports in the DOB NOW Public Portal. On the left, search for the building by address, BIN, or Borough, Block, Lot. This will give you the building profile page. Scroll to the bottom and click on SAFETY: Compliance Filings. You'll see 3 filings for this building. You want to view the top one, TR6-811455-8A-I1, which is the most current filing. Click on the icon in the View column. You can then click through the different areas of the report to see what the inspector found.
You can also see this in open data in our DOB NOW: Safety – Facades Compliance Filings dataset. But if you are only interested in a single address, you will get more detail by going directly to DOB NOW as explained above.
Thank you,
