Inquiry
We are going through your data in the Job Applications Open Source Data for the DOB but am finding that over time, some of the data is either changed or updated. This is causing problems with our research and would like the opportunity to speak with someone for clarification.
EDIT
Thank you for the quick response, for my research we are pulling Job Application filings over time. When we looked at the data submitted on 9/12/2017 on Friday 9/15/2017 we sorted and analyzed. But then on Monday 9/18/2017 we looked at the same days information (pulled again from the website on monday) the data appeared to have changed.
My question to you is, does the DOB ever change the open source data once it is posted? If yes what is the criteria for changing? If not is there a possible explanation for this?
Another question is, we have seen that there is a 2 day delay from the date of application to date available on Open Source Website. Could you provide more information on the timeline for this process?
Assigned Agencys Response
Regarding the 2-day delay, this is data coming from our old system. The application process can include delays due to issues like paper form submissions, data entry, or data quality checks between the Legacy system and the system that connects to open data.
For the changes you are seeing, can you give me a specific example of the data that is changing? I don't see anything that's randomly changing, but if you're looking at a specific job number, for example, the Job Status and Job Status Descrp may change over time. New data or changes to job application data should be reflected by new rows in the spreadsheet with a new DOBRunDate at the end. Existing rows in the dataset should not be changed.
If this is not the type of change that you mean, can you give me a specific job number with a specific column name that changed? Or other details that can help me find the change myself so I can troubleshoot?
