Hello!
I have a question for the collisions with ride sharing cars.
Where the ride sharing cars like Uber and Lyft are included in the vehicle type code?
I want to know the exact definition of the codes, especially 'livery vehicle', 'small com veh', 'passenger vehicle' and the differences among them.
Thank you in advance.
Assigned Agencys Response
Uber/Lyft drivers who have a TLC license would be included in the Livery category, but certain ride types licensed in surrounding states would not need a TLC license to operate, therefore they would fall into the regular categories depending on the vehicle type if involved in a crash.
a) SEDN – Passenger Vehicle
b) SUBN – Sport utility vehicle/station wagon
c) VAN – Van
d) PICK – Pick-up Truck
e) SCOM – Small commercial vehicle (four tires) (e.g., box truck, etc)
f) LCOM – Large commercial vehicle (six or more tires) (e.g., semi, tractor-trailer, etc.)
g) TAXI – Taxi vehicle
h) LIV – Livery vehicle
i) BUS – Bus
j) AMBU – Ambulance
k) FIRE – Fire truck
l) MCY – Motorcycle
m) SCOOT – Scooter
n) BIKE – Bicycle
