Inquiry
Hello — I am evaluating a small business-only research tool using the public permit dataset named below. The proposed operation would make one bounded, credential-free API request for a seven-day window, exclude names, phone numbers, email addresses, exact residential addresses, and residential or mixed/unknown projects, retain any permitted raw row only in memory during the run, and retain a source-linked derived business-project brief for no more than 30 days. It would not create a contact list, automate outreach, assert purchase intent, or make a legal, credit, housing, employment, eligibility, procurement, or other consequential decision. I am asking for authoritative documentation or the correct official contact; an acknowledgement alone will not be treated as permission.
Does NYC affirmatively permit the stated bounded SODA 2.1 retrieval, commercial derived output, and 30-day retention, and do the general “no restrictions on use” statements apply to this dataset and operation? Please identify controlling attribution, correction/deletion, and redistribution conditions; the documented values that safely identify commercial, application/in-review, and roofing-related records; complete lifecycle/date semantics and change history; and whether one credential-free bounded SODA 2.1 request is publisher-supported. Please also confirm only the authoritative sequence from job filing through permit request/issuance; no inference about purchase or contractor availability is requested.
Thank you,
Ruel Walker-Banks
