Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support, and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of a mentee. St. Nicks Alliance mentors serve as part of our team that works to provide career assistance to young adults. Mentors commit to spend at least 2 hours per month with the young adults for eleven months. Mentors spend this weekly time simply being adult friends to the young adult (mentee). Not a parent, not a therapist, not a preacher. Rather, a team of adult friends that invest their time listening, building trust, establishing relationship, supporting, guiding and through the course of the year share their passion for healthcare.
