<p><strong>During the GO School Saturday program, a professional teacher models a lesson, activity, or project to a classroom of students. Volunteer tutors continue to work with small groups of 2-4 students on the lesson, providing individualized attention which allows the students to thrive. </strong></p>

<p><strong>Tutor Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>

<p><strong>Tutor small group of students in grades 1st-8th who are in need of academic intervention under Head Teacher’s guidance</strong></p>

<p><strong>Punctual and consistent attendance; no more than 3 absences permitted per session<br />
(Session I: October-December, Session II: January-April)</strong></p>

<li>
<p><strong>Actively and enthusiastically participate – support instruction and engagement</strong></p>

<p><strong>Help prepare, record, and put away classroom materials</strong></p>

<p><strong>Ongoing communication with Head Teacher regarding students’ progress and/or concerns, and with the Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator regarding overall volunteer experience</strong></p>

Summary
The GO Project shapes the futures of low-income NYC public school children through academic, social and emotional support starting in the early elementary years. GO provides year-round educational and family support services to children performing below grade level.
