Vehicles including NYC police or other escort vehicles and pedestrian(s) shall not be allowed on the bridge while the crane is crossing the bridge (Full Closure required). The permitted Crane must move with speed not more than 5 mph on the bridge. It is recommended to maintain same speed and not apply brake when crane is crossing the bridge. Do not travel over the bridges if the winds exceed 30 mph. Permittee is responsible for any repair for damage incurred to the bridge structure and any appurtenances caused by proposed crossing operation. Follow all posted signs on and before the bridge such as weight, height, speed limit, etc. Follow all applicable procedures with regard to conforming to any constraints in geometric (weight, height, length, etc.) of the roadways on their selected route and obtain any other permit if required. Any change in the proposed Crane weight or configuration will not be allowed. Axles weight should be transferred to each axle as per the attached Crane information. Obtain all necessary permits from other agencies such as NYSDOT, TBTA, etc. as applicable. Approval of the above-mentioned Crane on the subject bridge does not in any way predispose of the responsibility of the permittee. for any damage done to the bridge structural integrity, due to this move.

Crane must wait for the vehicles in all lanes to be cleared in the direction of travel before it begins crossing the structures. The crane company must have escort vehicles behind the crane to keep the bridges clear of traffic until the crane has completed crossing the bridges. Obtain approvals from PANYNJ, NYSDOT, TBTA, etc. Permittee is responsible for any repair for damage incurred to bridge structure caused by proposed crossing. Cranes cross City-Bridges, when traffic volume is low. This permit is only approved based on the cranes axles weight and spacing submitted to us in your OD applications. It is crane owners responsibility to adjust the standard crane axle weight (if exceeds than submitted axle weight) by removing any parts, such as Counter weight, Outrigger beams, etc to meet the submitted axle weight
