International School
Overview Paragraph
The Pan American International High School is a diverse learning community of recently-immigrated English Language Learners (ELLs). Our primary focus is on English language development, while providing opportunities to enrich Spanish language skills. Students will learn about Latin American themes and topics which are integrated into both classroom learning and community service projects. The Puentes Program, a partnership of our school with the Latin American Integration Center, cultivates the leadership skills of students in their communities through service learning projects and internships. We are committed to creating an environment that values students' cultures, native languages and individual differences, while preparing them for success as they navigate a changing world.

Overview Paragraph
Bard High School Early College Queens (BHSEC Queens) was founded on the belief that many students are ready to do serious college work at age sixteen. Bard College partnered with the NYC Department of Education to create an innovative program that enables high school students to move, in four years, from 9th grade through the first two years of college, earning a high school diploma, up to 60 college credits and an Associate of Arts degree upon graduation.
Program Highlights
In their first two years at BHSEC Queens, students receive a solid grounding in mathematics, science, history, English, a foreign language and the arts. In the final two years, the college program balances core requirements in critical reading and analysis, mathematics, science, language & culture and the arts, with opportunities for students to pursue their individual interests. We offer a variety of college courses as well as the opportunity for students to engage in independent studies of their own design. Students completing 60 college credits receive the Bard College AA degree. Students may then transfer to colleges and universities with up to two years of college credit.

Overview Paragraph
Located a block away from the Queens Botanical Garden, East-West is a small school focused on preparing students for college and career readiness. In a supportive environment that embraces our four pillars of Honor, Excellence, Curiosity, and Celebration, students are able to engage in a rigorous academic program consisting of Advanced Placement (AP) courses in English, history, psychology, and science. While at our school, students become highly proficient in Chinese, Korean, or Japanese. In addition to a college-bound academic program, we offer a robust after-school club culture, supported by an active student government. We promote a positive, safe school atmosphere by encouraging acts of kindness through a nationwide anti-bullying program. Parent and teacher communication is important to us. We commit to parent partnerships by offering monthly PTA meetings on evenings or weekends. Grades and transcripts, along with student progress reports, are readily available to parents online. We have a full-time college counselor and require all seniors to attend a daily college preparatory course. We offer Kaplan SAT prep courses onsite to provide our students with a competitive edge in the college application process. Our team works hard to ensure that 100% of our graduates continue on to higher education.

Learning is a constant at Rockaway Collegiate High School (RCHS). We offer a collaborative educational experience in which talented students are challenged to expand their intellect and develop the habits of inquiry, expression, critical thinking, problem solving, research and presentation. We ensure this with the development of consistent structures, additional time and support when needed. RCHS strives to know each student personally through the provision of an individualized student success plan which outlines the steps each student needs to take, informed by precise data, in order to be automatically successful. Every student is required to provide portfolios and pass Regents exams.
