Join Howard Garden and NYC Parks GreenThumb for a hands-on volunteer day building new garden beds--no power tools needed! This is an exciting project to be a part of. We'll provide all the tools, training, and guidance to ensure a productive and safe volunteer day! Please wear sturdy work shoes and weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks.Join us for the whole project!Day 1 (Wed. Oct. 7) – Garden Site PrepDay 2 (Sat. Oct. 21) – Filling Beds & PlantingHoward Garden was founded in the late 1980's by community activists and artists who've made a lasting impact in the Brownsville community. These gardeners are still active to this day, and are excited to pass along the knowledge and skills gained through decades of environmental stewardship.
